Overview

This Zildjian ZBT 3 Cymbal Pack includes an 18" crash ride and a pair of 13" hi-hats plus a free 14" crash. Sound grooves and round hammer strikes in a simple circular pattern on the top surface of ZBT cymbals magnify the basic sound of the distinctive ZBT alloy. ZBT Series Hi-Hats produce a sharp and focused sound with an excellent, bright chick sound. The ZBT crash ride cymbal produces a cutting ride sound with good crash qualities. The free 14" crash has a brilliant finish and provides easy playability-the perfect first crash cymbal.

The bright, intense, high-pitched sound of the Zildjian ZBT series cymbals cut through the mix. The sheet origin and lathing techniques create high-volume projection that speaks quickly and brightly when struck then decays rapidly. Since ZBT cymbals are pressed and lathed from sheets of uniform, high-quality bronze alloy, they are remarkably consistent.

The highly polished, brilliant finish looks fresh and offers excellent, clean stick articulation with controlled overtones.

Features
  • 18" crash ride
  • 13" hi-hats
  • Free 14" crash

This is the first cymbal pack I start with and I would suggest it for any new player. It gives you exactly what you need to start with without shelling out lots of money. The 14" crash is really good. Sounds great and you can wail on the thing. The high hats are ok. Good for starting out, but nothin special to them. The crash/ride sounds much better as a crash than it does a ride, but overall it's an average cymbal and is fairly versatile.

These cymbals were my first set that i ever bought. I played with them for about a year, but the first thing i noticed was that the ride too too long to decay and that the bell sounded horrible. The hi hats were a great deal for a starter kit but i do think that i would rather prefer a set of A customs or ZHTs. THe crash was amazing, nothing else i could ask for. Sadly, i cracked it about two weeks after the warranty but it was an awesome cymbal. Overall i would rate this pack 3/5, but i think that the ride is a waste of money.

For my little rocker

By Peter Henn

from Titusville, FL

I bought the cymbals for my son who is a budding percussionist. He had a junior drum set and detroyed the cymals that came with the set. So I got him a regular size drum set and new cymbals for Christmas. I ordered them on line and they shipped the next day and arrived in a week. Probably would have arrived sooner but there were some Federal Holidays in the way. I am very happy with the quality and the sound of this Zildjian ZBT 3 Cymbal Pack. They feel extremely durable, the sound of the high hat is crisp and clean. The ride/crash has a nice ring to it. I am saving the crash cymbal to give to him for his birthday. For the money, you can't beat this starter set as it looks and sounds like top of the line quality.

Spending less

By 2Krunk

Lets be honest this isn't a $800 pack, but for what its worth, I got a good year out of them. I really don't hit too hard, so no cracks, but I record live drums often. I must say that I always have my drummers using their cymbals for better sound. but for a live gig, just starting out, you'll get a thick sound that will get the job done. just be know you'll be ready to upgrade as you get better and get a feel/ear for other cymbal packs.

Good, But Get Insurance On It

By Nate

from Columbiana, Ohio

The 13 Inch Hi-Hats For what I play (Pop [punk-Fusion Jazz) Are Quite Superb, The 18 Inch Crash Ride, well il be honest... I only use that as a crash, but has a nice bell, the 14 inch crash however shown problems. I do alot of Gigs, so therefore I need very durable cymbals. I bought my cymbal pack in December, but by Febuary my 14 Inch Crash Was terribly beaten up, several huge cracks emerged from the bell outwards. Thank God I got the warranty. The 14 inch cymbal was quite nice, and I suggest this for any beginer, so long u get the insurance, they will eventually break, but its a good one year or so investment. 4*'s

Great for money!!!

By Noah

from Apopka, FL

I had these for about 1 year now. The sound is great. Its looks awesome on your set. Nice and shiny. I think my only REALLY minor con is that my crash cracked in about 8 months, but I just found out im a really really hard hitter. So, if your a beginner then it will definitely last longer than that. So basically, theres nothing wrong with these if your on a budget, like most of us. :)

Good starter cymbals

By Robert

from Auburn IN.

As my first cymbal purchase these werent bad. Ive had this pack for about a year and there still holding up. The hihats are great, no complaints there. They give me what i want and sound real nice. The crash is good for many applications and is by far a great sounding cymbal, although it has a long sustain. The crash ride on the other hand is not very good. the sustain is long and it rings alot. It doesnt sound good as a crash or a ride. If you are looking for Bronze starter cymbals i would go with the Sabian B8's. they arent as ringy. If you want to stay with Zildjian cymbals though try ZHT's or another series in the Zildjian family.

awesome cymbals!!

By kanji

from round rock,texas

i just got these cymbals and after reading these reviews i was a little nervous. the cymbals appereantly break easily but thats only if you hit them extremely hard. these cymbals have a nice crips tone and are perfect for intermediate or beginning drummers. but if you buy the pro 4 cymbals or the rock 4 cymbals your are just wasting your money. i highly recommend these to anyone.

Okay

By Mike

from Boston, MA

I got these for christmas last year with my drum set. They were good for about 3 months until the crash and ride started cracking! These are the least durable cymbals! My crash, which I've had for 11 months now, has 7 cracks in it. It sounds like a splash cymbal now because there is no sustain whatsoever anymore. My ride has one large crack, now getting bigger. I mean, I guess I'm getting what I payed for and I was a beginner. But yeah, these are pretty bad.

Excellent Quality Cymbals

By Utter_Hephaestus

from Dallas, Texas

I bought this pack as a gift with some petty cash I had spare. This was BY FAR worth my money. If you are not used to a Drumset and need some time with cymbals, this would be the pack to get, considering the fact that it comes with a bonus 14" Crash. BUY THIS PACK NOW! The only thing that was somewhat intimidating was the fact that only after a day, there were already big marks from where I had played. Otherwise, fantastic cymbals.

god for some starters

By tommy

from langhorne, pennsylvania

These cymbals are nice sounding both the crashes are pretty good, i love the 14 inch crash but there's one fatal flaw with these, i got these 1 month ago and the 14 and 18 inch crashes have bends and huge dents in them, i would recommend these if you cant afford a higher grade cymbal pack due to weakness, but other than that they are pretty good for starters
