Loud & Heavy!

By Joey Kronik

from Buffalo,NY

Comments about Zildjian Z Custom Projection Crash Cymbal:

If your looking for a LOUD and heavy sounding cymbal, this is the one for you. It will fill in any part that needs filling in and has a nice sounding crash to it with an nice size bell on it too. This cymbal would work well with any heavy sound style of music like Metal, Death Metal, Thrash, Hardcore, Metalcore. I don't suggest this cymbal to anyone that plays a lighter style of rock, it def. wouldn't sound right at all FYI: This is the heaviest cymbal that Zildjian makes so if your going to use this on a Boom stand, make sure it's a heavy duty stand and not some cheap flimsy stand...

friggin loud

By Zero

from San Diego CA

Comments about Zildjian Z Custom Projection Crash Cymbal:

I own an 18" and a 19" verrsion of this massive cymbal, and they are extremely loud! If you play metal, or any type of hard rock, and like to beat the living daylights out of cymbals, these are for you. The thickness of the cymbal gives it a large explosive sound which is raw and aggressive, but yet dark and clean. The downsides to these are that if you try to record them, it's very hard. I just recorded an album and I had to crank the volume up on my overhead mics because I couldn't hear them. Also, if you don't hit them hard enough, they don't sound out, so you REALLY have to punch these thing to make a good quality sound due to the sheer size and thickness of them. So overall, good for heavy hitting big dudes playing metal, but that's about it.
