Awesome Drumsticks

By Michael P.

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

These drumsticks are amazing. This is my 3rd set of them and they are just amazing. The grip really helps a lot because it makes you hold the sticks better and prevents it from flying from your hands. They also just feel great when you hold them. The only bad thing is that you get blisters after a while of non-stop playing.

Amazing with a catch

By Joe

from Taylor, MI

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

I had been messing around with a ton of different sticks. Being a guitar player and collecting every pick till I found the perfect one, having a ton of sticks was no diffrent. I personally do not like the big heavy sticks even though I play rock and metal. These sticks opened up my playing skills but there is a catch, playing heavy like I do they will give you blisters in the middle of your index finger so my suggestion is drummers gloves. Other than that these are the best sticks I have used so far

Great Sticks

By Josh F.

from Ogden, ut

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

These sticks are wonderful. I play in marching band and these sticks sound great. They sound great. The only problem with these sticks is the grip comes off after playing for a while. And for those reviews saying that they give you blisters. I have not found that true. But I don't play very hardcore. Overall Good sticks.

My Favorite Sticks

By Landon

from Great Falls, virginia

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

These sticks are very good, I myself have dropped countless sticks so I looked into some with grips on them. These are great, the grip isn't too heavy on the stick so you are still able to move around quickly. They are also only good for certain genres of music. I would not recommend them for anyone who plays metal-hard rock-etc as they will wear out and give blisters in the index-thumb. The grip does seem to hold up for me, unless you play alot of rimshots you shouldn't worry. ----------Warning----------- These sticks WILL leave dark brown marks on your heads and some cymbals. So if you are worried about keeping things newer looking, then dont get these. It does wear off though

Comfortable size (comparable to 5A). Like the notched latex grip. Wish there was a nylon tip version.

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

I have long loved the zildjian dipped series Jazz as well as rock. I recently purchased a new set and am glad to find that little has changed. Still an excellent stick for anyone who is looking to have some additional grip provided without taking away from your control. Quality is always excellent and is still excellent to this day!!

    GOOD BUT COULD BE BETTER

    By lildrummafromanathamotha

    from Fremont, IN

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

theses sticks are good if you want to play the snare like for a marching band, but if you play hard core, dont get them, i tried them from one of the guys from our band and only about 1 minute into playing it, i got a blister on my index finger, and it hurts. i recomend these if your not that hard core, but dont for hard core. like slipknot or Blink 182.

    Using them for years

    By Tomsy

    from Pennsyltucky

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

I've been using these sticks for several years & played everything form blues to heavy classic rock with them. The grip is what sold me. If they were just a tad heavier, they would be the ultimate stick.

    Brilliant!

    By Cody Woods

    from Shelbyville, Indiana

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

I bought a pair of these sticks because I was fascinated with the molded grip and how comfortable it was. These are now my favorite sticks to use. The grip allows the stick to 'sit' in your fingers nicely without sliding around, maintaining a consistent grip. The stick is a bit light for my liking but they rebound nicely and you can do some nice tricks on the snare with them, as well as move around the set quickly. They also 'pop' nicely off of the hi-hat and ride cymbals. I've also extensively played hardcore/grindcore with them and the grips did leave some small blisters, but it wasn't enough to warrant not using them. I liked the speed at which I could play because of the light weight and excellent rebound. You will not be disappointed!

    AMAZING

    By Parker

    from MD

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

i love these sticks. the grip is nice and the indents may look stupid but they realy help too. i like smaller sticks and these are the perfect size. if you like big sized sticks then you may not like these but i'd give them a try first. i also like how you cant see any nicks on the dark wood. the one complaint i have is... well im a little OCD and the grip looks like it was put on in 2 stages so that it wouldent peel and it works but it just messes with my mind.

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

i just bought these and love them, they are light weight and very well balenced. The grip is an awsome bonus because it stays in your hand and not flying acrossed the room.

    Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Sticks

    By Mike "MadDog" Hobbs

    from Camarillo, Ca

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

I'd like them dipped in red instead of yellow...because my favorite color is red...) Other than that, they are the best. Best for feel, balance, and response. I play them pretty hard sometimes and they hold up well. The indentation keeps them in my sweaty hands on long sets...and no blisters...cause I have calluses. I've been playing with these sticks exclusively for 7 years...I've tried lots...these are the best! Buy them in bricks...save money.

Excelent sticks, but use them wisely.

    By Dan Aslin

    from Folsom, CA

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

I have to agree with the others. These are fantastic sticks. The coating and unique thumb grooves make the stick solid in your hands plus give you a constant reference point without having to look. They are FAST and highly responsive but they are also light, jazz type sticks. I'm not surprised at all that the heavy hitters get blisters. In my opinion, if you are a heavy hitter: these sticks are not for you. In spite of how great they feel they are not made to pound away. Zildjain makes another Trilok Gurtu rock stick that's the same design but may be a bit heavier. I haven't tried that one so I'm not sure but it might be worth a shot. Might give your poor hands a break. What drummer wants blisters? Personally, I use several weight and style sticks and keep these for the lighter stuff. Good luck.

    Intersting and different approach

    By BILL

    from Simi Valley, CA

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:

I've been playing drumset for about 45 years, and snare for longer. In the last few years, I've been collecting and using as many "different" sticks as possible, just to change up my playing experience and to stray from the standard 5A/5B models. In my opinion, they're kind of gimmicky. When you hold and use any sticks, YOU create the fulcrum point, and let's admit that many famous and exceptional drummers have "made do" with their solid diameter sticks for many years. Also on the subject of diameter, please note these are not "jazz" sized like the overview says (.55 dia) and are not thin or even naturally bouncy. They're actually rather heavy with a solid, hard strike. In contrast to other opinions, I'd suggest them for loud, hard hitting drummers. Even so, they are unique and are truthful in the other descriptions. But if you're getting blisters (and you're experienced with "normal" sticks, which would give blisters to a beginner) you may be gripping too tight, which these sticks completely do not require. The fulcrum notch and the DIP coating covers that! I don't know why an experienced drummer would also need gloves in addition to the DIP covering, and if you need to go there, pass on these.
