Zildjian Master Sound Hi-Hat Cymbals are ideal for rock music where maximum cut and volume are needed. Multiple contact points created by innovative hammering along the edges allow air to vent out of the cymbals as they close, accentuating the "chick" effect.

My pair (14", traditional finish) ended up disappointing me because the bottom hat on mine isn't flat at all. When I lay it on a table, about 2/3 or 3/4 the lip of the cymbal is flat with the tabletop, but the rest of it curves up into the air. (I'm not talking about the little ridges that vent air, but the entire cymbal itself.) The top hat, however, is flat, which causes it to have to bend to close tightly with the bottom hat. This results in a very poor "chick" sound. My friend's pair of Sabian B8 hats have a better "chick" (in my opinion) than my pair of these. I don't know if every pair would be like this though...but just to be sure, I'd check it out before I buy.

Comments about Zildjian Master Sound Hi-Hat Cymbals:

These hi-hats have a nice crisp sound with fast decay. I like these better than my 15" A Custom Mastersounds.

Comments about Zildjian Master Sound Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I agree with the other post that these cymbals have a great chick, closed, and slightly open sound, but they don't sound good when they are all the way open.

    Master of the Mastersounds

    By Big D in SD

Comments about Zildjian Master Sound Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I was looking to pick up a pair of Mastersounds, either the A Customs, K or these A?s.As nice as they are, I tried the A Custom MasterSounds, and I don?t know?those sounded a little ?tinny? - too bright / washy/ thin closed. I have performed with the A Customs HH?s, and I like their tone, but not the AC Mastersounds. I tried these A Mastersounds and they are soooooo clean, crisp. If you play them open, they scream and sing beautifully. Play them closed, and they just power through and slice up the mix. They?re a little heavier, which adds to their solid, cutting sound. Beautiful. I believe they may last longer because of their weight. You will love these. I have 3 HH?s and these are my fav.

Comments about Zildjian Master Sound Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I have had these for just over a month now. It was a heck of a step up from my B8 Pro Xcelerators! I own the 13", the *chic* is crisp, they are loud when opened, but still very sweet! Great sound, great buy.

Comments about Zildjian Master Sound Hi-Hat Cymbals:

These hi-hats are the most dependible that I have ever used. Their chick is so well defined. When opened up they project through the loudest of playing enviroments! I have the 13" and I must say WOW!

    Great Hats

Comments about Zildjian Master Sound Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I bought these a few weeks ago and could not be happier. There are the best hi-hats i have ever played.Nice a crisp sound. and loud when are open. I found other hi-hats getting lost in sound during shows. Not these! A few buddies have the A Custom Master Sounds but they don't compare to these. Great price too. Can not go wrong with these hi-hats.

    Not bad

    By bananafish3

Comments about Zildjian Master Sound Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I have the 14's, and closed, they sound amazing. Incredible stick definition, and they are quite loud as mentioned before. They also sound great "slightly" open, but here's the problem. They sound bad when you really want to open them up, which I do on occasion. I just sounds bad. I would say the best cymbals for playing open are Paiste, They have that really nice swishy, washy sound, just right. If you play with your hats closed the majority of the time, these will work great. If you play open a lot, you may not like them. Peace!

    Very Nice!!

Comments about Zildjian Master Sound Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I owned B8's for years and needed to upgrade. I played these and fell in love. These hats are very crisp and clean. You can bring out articulation in your playing very nicely. Only drawback that I can see/feel is they can produce a very loud sound but in my estimation a player might just have to get used to the feel. Get them.
