As far as rides go this is the best, no question. I have some really nice cymbals and the K custom catches the most attention. It's a ride with character, it feels perfect, it looks great and sounds amazing. It wont washout(unless you hit it wrong), with plenty stick definition. this sounds great with every thing, from death metal to jazz. The K Custom Ride is the perfect cymbal!

Dry Feels Good This Time ;)

By jordan

from Valley Springs, CA

I have always wanted one but never had enough to buy one, found a used one for $140 at GC, (how the heck right?), new and used look the same so i bought it, sounds amazing, perfect definition and the bell is darker and very fun to play. I play in a punk pop band and its the sickest looking and sounding cymbal i own. Pick one up used or new don't matter!

Classic and versatile

By billddrummer

from Reno, NV

I've owned this ride for nearly 4 years, and I've used it on everything from heavy metal, to classic rock and roll, funk, jazz, country, reggae and fusion. I use it as a second crash when it's appropriate, and the cymbal never disappoints. My ride has a clear signature bell sound, which I use to accent Latin music. Take care when selecting one, because each of them sounds a bit different. Also, when selecting other cymbals to complement, play them first before buying so you can get an idea of how their different tones mesh. I tried 5 different crash cymbals with this one before I was satisfied, but it was worth the effort.

Awesome!

By Blake

from VA Beach

My band mates bought this for me for my 20th birthday. -I couldn't have asked for a better present. This ride cuts! Like what others have said, it doesn't wash out at all. The bell is loud and mean! It's perfect if you need a "ride" sound, but need to play LOUD! I'm in a blues/funk band and a progressive metal band, and this ride kills with both. I highly recommend this for any genre.

great

By rhobere

from Dallas, Texas

I played on this cymbal in the jazz band in highschool and only recently bought one for my personal kit. I play anything from jazz to metal and this cymbal has a place in all of it. It has such a perfect defined sound that can't be described. If you've never heard one of these, go to your local store and just play on one. well worth every penny.

The K Custom Dry Ride has everything that I was looking for in a ride cymbal: Dry(duh), articulate, responsive, musical, and extremely versatile. You simply can't go wrong with this cymbal!

Excellent

By DT

from Dallas, TX

I can safely say that this is the best cymbal that I own, no questions asked. After upgrading to Zildjian A Customs through one of their many cymbal packs I was disappointed with the sound I was getting from the 20 inch medium ride that was included in the pack. So I began the search for a new ride. This was the first ride that really caught my attention both in sound and look. First of all, this is not a classy looking cymbal, it's rugged looking, and in that way it has its own beauty. This cymbal has a great ride sound and that is exactly what I was looking for, minimal undertones, stick definition, the jazz sound. One thing I would say is that I find the bell more quiet than I would like. Even still, this cymbal is sonic bliss and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something that sounds a little more tight.

More Versatile Ride Than Meets The Eye..!

By Monday317

from Chicagoland

This a heck of a ride; it's character changes with the size, weight, tip & wood of sticks you use. It crashes as good or better than the Oriental Crash of Doom, yet has a very clear ping while riding softly. It will get as washy as you like if you ride farther from the bell, and be almost percussive when ridden at the base of the bell. The bell itself sounds like something out of the Sixties, and voices very differently when played with a maple stick or an oak stick (nyaaaaaah, who needs hickory..?).

Like a Dream

By Sean

from Idaho

When I bought my K custon dry ride I was amazed at the sound that I was getting out of it. It's been a little over a year now and when I play I'm still amazed at the versitility and amazing sound of this cymbal. It's NOT just a jazz ride. It can do everything from jazz, to funk, to rock, to latin grooves. It's an extremely adaptable cymbal with amazing great sounds. I reccomend you to check it out no matter what kind of ride you're looking for.

Perfect Jazz Cymbal

By ulyanov77

from Atlanta, GA

This dry variety of cymbals is perfect for jazz and fusion drumming. It sounds absolutly beautiful with dark overtones and a very nice sustain. The bell has a subtle, but strong sound to it. Others should not be discouraged because this cymbal can fit in well with other genres than jazz. All is up to the drummer's interpretation.
