I've been using the Zildjian Dip 5A's for about three years, and I don't think I could recommend a better stick for jazz to heavy drummers alike! The thin rubberized coating prevents alot of the reverb from getting to your hands, especcially when used on cymbals. Also the coating makes it much more difficult to drop your sticks. The rubber doesn't last very long though. It can bubble up in some areas and peel off after a few long stretches of playing, but while it lasts it's a very comfortable stick.

Oh its still in my hand... wheres the rest of it? it broke? after half a song? oh... well thats weird. Ill just get the other pair i bought, these must just be faulty. (few minutes later) ouch, a piece of the stick just hit my face. Oh, it broke. The grips are a wonderful idea, and work well. But the sticks tend to vibrate a lot actually, and they break wicked wicked easy. I honestly would suggest not buying a pair of these sticks, at all. Try other methods to get grip. Maybe tape? All sizes and tips and anything in this series breaks easily like this. read the other reviews one of them at least mentions BOTH of his pairs breaking as well.

Experimenting turned to success!

By Bryant Seavey

from Rancho Cucamonga, Ca

I kinda bought these on a whim just to try them since I was bored of the sticks I had. I used to use pro-mark shira kashi oak sticks in 5a, but these just kind of appealed to me for the grip and the durability, and also a referral from a friend. I originally bought these in a nylon tip just on a whim, but then I kinda just fell in love. The feel and the sound of these guys is great! I haven't had any problems with them since i bought them about 3 months ago. They're still in great condition after all this time, and I'm a pretty aggressive player. I've seen some reviews saying that the rubber comes off, but it hasn't happened to mine yet. There aren't any signs of it, either.

Sticktastic!

By JOEL HUNTER

from Hampton Ga.

Zildjian 7A Wood tips are the perfect stick for me! I love the way they feel when I'm playing. There light weight, the grip works great and the round shape of the tip is better for the heads & tone. I would & will recommend these sticks to all drummers.

Rubber dip handle = WIN! Can't ask for a better stick

By Artem Brayson

from Jacksonville, FL

I've been using these Zildjian DIP sticks for quite a few years now and simply refuse to use anything else. They are designed absolutely perfectly, in my opinion. I recommend them with the nylon tip.

If you need a little extra grip

By Nathan Kelley

from Minnesota

These sticks are perfect if you get sweaty hands or you drop your sticks a lot. The rubber coating is grippy without being tacky or sticky. They can take a lot of abuse and last quite awhile. They also look clean and went above my expectations. if your sick of dropping your sticks and want ones that last these are for you!

Nice Sticks

By Jacqueline Moore

from Connersville, IN

I've owned these sticks for a week and I know I won't be using another brand anytime soon. The grip is amazing; as long as you're making contact, they won't slip. Awesome sticks so far.

the sticks are allright

By Tim

from Teaneck NJ

I bought these sticks because I would keep dropping my sticks. when I got them they felt very light so I was a little nervous that they would break. I was wrong. the sticks are good quality and they do help with your grip. a problem for my however is that the sticks are thick and that affects my playing and the sound. all in all these are pretty good sticks but not the best. you if need good grip I would recommend the Vic firth Vic grip sticks or grip tape to help with your grip. but if you are looking for a good stick that is light, durable, and you dont mind the size then you should take a look at these.

Good Sticks!!!!

By Alex Fitzpatrick

from Melbourne, KY.

I've been using the 5a wood for about a few months now, and one pair will last me about a month and a half (4-6 weeks). The grips on the sticks will wear off, but you can just tape the grips, and they will work just as good. I'd recommend using these!

best sticks ive ever had

By Jacob

from Collinsville, IL

I bought these sticks a while back, and i can honestly say theyre the best pair ive ever played with. i had the 5A nylon tips and they just refused to break. i play in my church, and besides the 7 hours i play a week of actual rehearsal time, i practice about a total of 4 hours. Considering at that pase it took the rubber a month to even start peeling, and the sticks as a whole 3 months to actually splinter and break, its the most durable pair of sticks ive ever had. i know people complain about blisters, but i only got one once and then it popped and calused and i had nothing to worry about. just let your hands get used to them
