Overview

Zildjian Armand Hi-Hat Cymbals give you a warm yet articulate hi-hat blend evoking the shimmering sound of the '60s. This Zildjian Armand pair includes a medium-thin top hi-hat cymbal and a medium weight bottom cymbal.

Based on the popular 19" Armand Ride and the inimitable sound of the '60s, Zildjian proudly introduces the Armand series into the A Zildjian Range. During the explosion of rock and pop music of the '60s, the great drummers of groundbreaking bands used A Zildjian cymbals to make their mark. You can hear Zildjian's distinctive sound in the great recordings of that era, from The Beatles to The Beach Boys, from Cream to The Jimi Hendrix Experience, from The Rolling Stones to The Spencer Davis Group. Zildjian has now resurrected that nostalgic cymbal sound with these exciting new models.

New shaping techniques create a slightly lower profile than A Zildjians and help to offer a special warm and smooth blend of overtones. Lighter weight specifications promote a fast cymbal response with special lower-pitched overtones without the loss of projection potential.

Zildjian left these babies without any protective coating to help promote the aged look and patina that cymbals from the '60s would have today. A tighter lathe on top combined with the current A Zildjian lathing on the bottom results in a unique feel for each new model.

Crisp, warm, clean, bright.

By GARRISON TURNER

from Goose Creek, SC

These hats are wonderful. They are clean, bright, soft, and crisp. They are very pleasant and washy and blend nicely. They have a very warm chick also. These hats are not particularly cutting, and not the slightest bit trashy so if you're looking for hats with attitude, look elsewhere. These are extremely versatile hats, I recommend them to anyone. I think they sound crisper / tighter than the A Mastersounds, and brighter than the New Beats. Pick up a pair, you won't be sorry!!!

Old Sound? It's New to Me!

By The Baldblaster

from Phila,Pa

The thought process behind this model is to bring back the old sound from the Beatles to the new generation.Well I'll tell you I've played alot of hi-hats over the years but,I have never heard anything close to this.Have you ever heard a sound of a Crash,Ride or China and say oh yeah! Well this is it! The chick on these are unsurpassed & playing the hats open just sound sizzling. If you are buying new hats you must try these out!

Ridiculously Amazing!

By Dylan LaPratt

from Grosse Pointe, Michigan

Okay, these hi-hats are the best you can buy! I own the 14" pair. Their sound is incredibly warm, but very bright. They have a very unique shimmering sound to them, especially when opened. When closed together, they sizzle in just the right manner that allows you to give a strong white noise to your beat, without overpowering the rest of the set. They go best with other Armand Ziljians, so I would not recommend purchasing these as replacement hi-hats. Overall, they are beyond well worth the price.
