True to their name, Fast Crashes have a smooth, fast decay. Following a strong initial attack, these cymbals are bright, full-bodied, and musical. The paper-thin weight provides for a soft, buttery feel, and plenty of playability. Very responsive, these cymbals excel in moderate acoustic settings and in recording environments. Beginning with the 14" size, going up to the 18", these cymbals increase in volume and sustain while maintaining their unique, quick voices.

After playing the new A Zildjian Fast Crashes, Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver commented, "These cymbals have a nice brilliant sound and really jump out at you. They also have a nice attack and decay. They are in the tradition with the As, but a newer, hipper, and more modern version. Zildjian is always trying new ideas and that's a good thing!"

Comments about A Zildjian Fast Crash:

I now have 15 & 17 inch fast crashes to go with my 21 inch sweet ride & new beat hi hats. I use these with my practice kit. The crashes have a nice fast response and decay, perfect for our small practice space. But if you lean on them they can cut right through the mix if you are playing out.

    Great for anything

    By Richard Egnot

    from Cleveland, OH

Comments about A Zildjian Fast Crash:

I upgraded to A's from ZHTs, so you know there was a major difference. I have a 16" and 18" of these. At first, I was worried because I play some pretty hard/fast music here and there, but these have held up very well since I got them over a year ago. The 16" is best used as an accent cymbal, or as a main crash for quiet, more laid-back music. The 18" is the real diamond, it works great as a crash/ride, or as a main crash for rock and heavier genres. Also, i'm 100% confident that these, which describes as "paper thin," are more durable than the heaviest A Custom. I will absolutely never own an A Custom, because of how many drummers I know who've broken them within a few months. Zildjian A's are worth every penny.

Comments about A Zildjian Fast Crash:

This crash is a great cymbal to have. It adds that extra brightness and shine to your set-up. Also, it looks great. Lastly, this cymbal should never be used as a main crash to drive a chorus, it should be used as an accent in verses or anything else but then again, it still sounds amazing. Definitely reccomended!!!

    18" Fast Crash

    By Nick

    from El Paso Texas

Comments about A Zildjian Fast Crash:

This is a very good secondary crash when you need not too much but not too little either. On a recording it sounds great! Quick attack with fast decay perfect for the downbeat of one type of crash. Live settings as well works great! Has a bunch of shimmering overtones making it a great effects crash as well. When hit only slightly peaks perfectly for a more open wwwooaashhhhhh rather than a wssshhhhhhhhhh..notice more w's in the first one indicating a different sound. Overall this is a great cymbal, and extremely durable. 2 years and counting not a scratch or dent on it!!

Good for jamming, awful for shows.

    By Nick B

    from Harvard, MA

Comments about A Zildjian Fast Crash:

I have the 14" version of this cymbal, and like some other crashes of this size, is absolutely terrible for concerts. That being said, when just jamming its a pretty good cymbal as long as you put a washer on it and keep it from moving around too much. Overall its a pretty good crash in the right setting, if buying the 14" version do not expect to be able to play in shows because its just not loud enough at all.

    Great addition to your set!

    By Clint

    from Salt Lake City, UT

Comments about A Zildjian Fast Crash:

I was debating on this crash vs a larger splash cymbal, and chose this one--the 14". I use the traditional A's exclusively and this particular cymbal is a must for your setup. It is bright and cutting enough to hear through loud music and blends well with other cymbals. The sound it makes has a very pleasant tone (not trashy), which most of the "fast" models have. I recommend.
