After 3 years of searching for the perfect ride i have found it! After 3 years of breaking it in it sounds amazing. With age this cymbal just gets better! The stick definition is well defined and articulate with just the right amount of "ping" and "wash" to the cymbal. Makes a very LOUD crash cymbal good for rolls and such. The dome is a bit small for my taste but it gets the job done. Playing towards the dome but not on it is a different ride more of a drier sound making it very versatile! Spend the money on this ride because its worth every penny!!!!!!!!

A little too much wash for my venue. I like a good "pingy" ride, which this does have, but, this ride is a little light for my tastes. Does have a nice deep crash. Nice ride to have as a second, but if you don't like the wash, look for something heavier.

Heavy and rock-ready

By Richard Egnot

from Cleveland, OH

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:

This is a big, mean ride cymbal. I have the 21". Originally, I wasn't a big fan of it, because I was used to tighter, more defined rides with less wash, but I have come to see the beauty in these types of cymbals, especially rides. This one is LOUD, and rings for days. The key to getting the most out of this, especially for recording, is to mic it far away, and let the overheads do the work. This helps to get a great stick definition, which can be difficult to hear because of the massive amount of wash. Crashing on this sounds like a tidal wave. Sounds right at home for late 60's rock, especially if you're a Mitch Mitchell fan.

Perfect for many styles

By Chris Hessian

from Rockford, IL

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:

I used a Paragon 22" rock ride for a long time as my stage ride in loud rock bands. I used an 18" and 16" crashes and a 14"?splash. I started playing more styles like swing and shuffle, so I wanted to change my set up, especially since I record my set way more than I play life. This cymbal is everything I needed. I had friends bring over tons of different rides to play on my own kit and this one has the best crash/ride sound along with being true to it's name, the term "sweet spot" has never been more true for a cymbal. Unless you play some really heavy music, this is a no-brainer.

Best Cymbal I Ever Bought

By Chip

from Philadelphia PA

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:

This cymbal goes with my 18 projection crash and 22 rock ride perfectly. I bet there isn't one person that would dislike this cymbal, it's very versalite. When you ride on it it has a smooth and warm response and as a crash it creates a perfect, loud, blast of medium tone that is great for rock.

Not a Versatile Cymbal

By Eric

from St. Paul, MN

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:

I'm surprised about all the good reviews for this cymbal. I bought it as part of a pack and like the rest of the cymbals, but not this one. I play in a rock band. For loud/harder music, I think this cymbal isn't loud enough. For softer/slower music, I think this cymbal is to ringy/distorted. I really can't imagine this cymbal being very good for any type of music. I'm not sure what you would want a quiet distorted ride sound for.

Disappointed

By Colin

from Pennsylvania

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:

I bought this cymbal a couple months back and I really liked it at first. It sounded awesome, it was a good price and was a good cymbal overall. However, after 4-5 months of having it it has already cracked 3 times. Now it sounds like a cheap china/piece of trash thank god I have the warranty. If I could go back I would buy the TRX BRT 21" ride, TRX makes some awesome cymbals so if you're thinking about this ride take a look at TRX also!

eh...

By Colin

from Doylestown, Pennsylvania

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:

So I loved this cymbal at first and it was fun to play and had a really nice sound. However, it cracked faster than my ZHT ride did when I had that back in the day.. Very disappointed by that, I bought it in May and I'm already sending it back with my warranty. If you're going to buy this cymbal get the warranty. But my advice is to take the money you're going to pay for this cymbal and get TRX's BRT 21" ride. BEAUTIFUL cymbal.

very sweet ride!

By brett_bam

from League City, TX

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:

I have had this ride for about 3 years before it cracked near the bell. & i can say that it is one of the best rides i have ever played on! The bell has a nice bright ping to it & the bow is great for soft stuff or crashing (i have mostly used it as a crash) i would definently recommend this ride to anyone looking for a nice bright bell or a great crash!! very versatile, zildjian rules!

its great

By garrett

from oakdale, california

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:

the bell is awesome .the ride sound is fittingly sweet. i bought it to use mainly for crash-riding and its got a great deep tone... i wasn't sure about it at first, but i mic'd it up and it sings through a mix very well. i use it with an A custom 20 in crash , which has a brighter higher sound but i think they go well together. i recommend it if you like a deeper tone.
