I played in a pop punk band for 8 years, and this cymbal has been the workhorse of my kit. Out of all my cymbals, this is the one I hit most often. Whether I ride on it or crash it, this cymbal can do anything I need it to. It doesn't matter whether you're a professional or a beginner looking to upgrade, the sweet ride will take care of all your needs. I went from pop punk to post-hardcore and this cymbal transitioned with no problem. Take my advice, make a good decision and buy this cymbal.
I purchased this without hearing it first, based mostly on the favorable reviews I read about it. I have to say, it sounds better than I was expecting! I crash on it a lot, and for that purpose it sounds clean and it projects well. The bell is bright and has a great tone that really cuts through. I replaced my old Zildjian medium ride with this one, and the difference is night and day. definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new versatile crash/ ride. I really love it!
Well I have been through a few ride cymbals such as a 20inch Paiste Signature Full Ride, 20inch Paiste Tewnty Ride, 20inch Zildjian A Custom Ride. I enjoyed every one of those cymbals so much but let me just say that I have recently gotten this 21inch A Series Sweet Ride, mine is in a traditional finish. Anyways, this cymbal SWEEET!!! Its great. It's a great combination of a ride with really good crash ability. This is similar to the A Custom Ride, but this one has more character, it's fuller. It's a bit washy and I like that, good stick definition, and the bell is just right. It looks very durable as well. I am a fan of raw bells but this bell works very well. This ride brings some advantages, if your in a rush or don't want to take all your cymbals then you can just take this sweet beauty and a good crash and some hats and your set! I like to pair this cymbal with my 18inch Sabian AAX-Xplosion Fast Crash and they go great together!
Used to play a 22" A Custom Ping Ride, but I switched over to the Sweet Ride so I would have a crashable ride. In my opinion, it's perfect for what I play (rock, punk, pop) and sounds amazing live and through recording. The bell cuts pretty good too and its got a funky sound to it, but I like it. As for riding on this, it's pretty washy, so if you're looking for good ping, I'd look for another cymbal.
this ride cymbal is sweet like candy....the sound emitted by this piece of metal makes me smile every time it is hit. it has a very nice wash sound to it and a very light ping sound. i mainly use this ride as a crash cymbal and it sounds so good and its really really loud. all in all the ride qualities are very light and heavy sticks are needed, but the crash is the best part....i definatley recommend this piece of Zildjian candy.
this is seriously the most impressive cymbal i have ever played. It has a great crash sound, and great stick definition. The bell is descent and it looks amazing. The sound is so clean and it is great for any style of music, very versatile.
Honestly the best ride out there. I wanted the ride that my fav. drummer (Travis Barker) used so i went to guitar center and tried this out on an OCDP kit. Right away i knew it was exactly the sound i was looking for. Even on my lower quality kit this cymbal sounds amazing. Perfect ping, great sounding bell, and suprisingly a really awsome crash. I would have to say that this is the best ride out there. In my opinion better than Sabian's HHX, Neil Peart, and Vault rides. I have a feeling im going to be using that cymbal my whole life!
Dude this ride is AWESOME! I fell in love with sweet rides a couple years ago when i bought the traditional finish one and that one rocks too. But the Brilliant one will shimmer your face right off! I love it for crashing and it has good stick definition too (better than the traditional finish). I plan to have a sweet ride somewhere on my kit for a LONG time. Zildjian has PWNED with the sweet ride!!!
I play in a band called +44 and I have been using this cymbal for about 5 years and LOVE it! It is good for a rock, punk rock sound which fit the band perfectly that I used to be in. I sometimes use my Zildjian K ride now, but most of the time I use this cymbal. It has a great "ping" sound, and when you hit it hard it has a perfect crashing noise that cuts through all the guitars and bass.
