I have the 6" and 8" splashes, and am very happy with both. They're very thin, with a loud voice that decays quickly. Absolutely awesome close to your hi-hats for quick fills and accents. And with two small splashes, you get a great "One, two" combo for some killer fills or endless patterns between your snare, hats, and splashes. They aren't for everything, but when they're needed, they add lots of life to your kit!

Incredible Splash!!!

By Windmaster

from Tioga, TX

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I'm not much of a Zildjian fan, manly sabian and Paiste, but this is without the best splash i have ever played on. I recently went to my friend's house and played on his set, and this cymbal sounded amazing. I've been saving up to get once since that day...

Great Splash

By myfriendisrelatedtolespaul

from Wisconsin

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I have had this 8 inch splash for about 9 months. It has a fairly high, brilliant sound that can cut through the mix. Very short sustain, perfect for a splash, and works great for little accents. I highly recommend this cymbal.

Thin, splashy, great accent

By drummerD

from Austin, TX

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I've owned the 8" A Custom splash for a few years now, and it's a reliable, splashy cymbal that can provide a punchy accent to any playing style. The splash effect is in full force with this model: it provides a high-pitched hit with quick decay. This model seems to be a little higher in pitch than the standard A. Zildjian cymbal because it is slightly thinner. All players should take this into account: these things aren't necessarily fragile, but they do demand a little more conscious care than even other splash cymbals. I have yet to crack one, but the cymbal is very thin and even flexible. The 8" model provides a strong splash, while the larger sizes will give a little bit more body and slightly longer decay. Overall, this is a classic splash cymbal sound that gives punchy, quick color to your music.

This is the ONE!

By Stenchof76

from KC, MO

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I've heard a lot of other splashes, and while my first choice was the 11" Oriental Trash Splash, once I heard the 12" A Custom, I knew this was it. To me, it's perfect... The pitch, the sound, the sustain/decay... Too many splash cymbals don't have enough sustain, don't have enough cut, and/or sound too high (too bright). While I'd use this cymbal mainly to add musical accents, it works very well simultaneously with other crashes. If you're in the market for a new splash, you really need to check this one out. I really doubt you'll find a better 12" splash than this one.

This Splash really works!!!

By Joe

from Belding, MI

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I needed a splash cymbal so I got my parents to buy me this one. I got the 8' cymbal and it really gives off a nice sound. The quality has impressed me because from what i can tell it is a really durable cymbal. It is the only A Custom cymbal I have but i really like it. I would recomend it if you don't have a large budget and still want good quality.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I own the 6 and it is great for simple effects. Adds some flavor to your kit in probably whatever style of music you play. Collaborates well with other splash cymbals. Good effects cymbal, well worth it purchase.

Nice Splash but...

By TmaDrmr90

from Kingsville, TX

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I've owned this splash (10") for about 4 years now. I love the pich of this cymbal. I also love how you don't have to hit hard at all to get a good response out of it, as with most Acustoms. The only thing I dont like much is that I think this cymbal is slightly choked. I would like a tad more splash out of it. If you are looking to buy this cymbal then go ahead, its a great cymbal. But if you want just that extra bit of washy splash instead of tone, go with the Sabian AAX Splash. Both are almost Exactly alike, but I think Sabian makes a better Splash.

worth the money, the best splash ever

By kyle howdy

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

wow, thats all pretty much all i have to say. i own the 8 inch and the 12 inch, i hope to get a 10 inch soon. but these splash cymbals are amazing. my little 8 inch sounds great when you need a quick high sound, its so good. and i use my 12 inch splash like a crash. i beat the hell out of it when im playing deathmetal, and it holds up perfectly, ive been playing both for about half a year, and there still in almost new condition. i suggest you buy this splash if your looking for a good splash, you will be very pleased.

Make A Splash

By Mississippi Kid

from Gibsonburg, Oh.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

After using a cheap twelve inch splash, I wanted to upgrade a little. I was expecting to have a hard time finding a splash that I really liked, as I am pretty picky about them. I was so impressed with the quality of sound that I bought two, an eight inch and a ten inch. Though I don't have the twelve inch yet, I have used one. It has a nice warm, washy tone that carries perfectly. The ten inch is very similar with a slightly higher pitch. I have discovered that when buying cymbals, you get what you pay for. Save your money, buy quality.

The perfect splash

By drummer

from washington

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I basically wanted to find that perfect splash sound, and this was it. I own the 10" model. It's quick, bright, musical, and just nice sounding overall. It isn't amazingly cutting, but it isn't really made to be (you'll want to find something heavier for that). This splash blends very nicely in any setting, and when used in a full band, it's suddle, but noticeable.

Great Effects Cymbal

By ChrisN

from Concord California

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I bought the 10" A Custom Splash awhile back, and have always loved its quick splashy sound. It sounds great when you hit the kick drum at the same time you hit the splash. This baby sits alongside 2 A Custom 16 Crashes (one regular and one fast) and it goes great with all my cymbals. The only reason I wasn't that psyched about this one is because of the price. It is nearly 100 dollars for a cymbal, which in my opinion, isn't all that amazing. The 10 incher is the only one which I liked, and to be honest, if I could go back, I probably would have chosen one which is cheaper. Look for alternatives, but if you just can't get enough of its sound, this is the cymbal for you.

Good Splash, nothing TOO special

By Tony

from Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I thought this splash is relatively good. there are better deals out there, it has a good sound, lots of sustain, but they built it too thick, especially in and around the bell. which gives it kind of an unpleasant overtone which doesn't sound quite right, it sounds a little odd. but when you first hit it, sounds great but after high pitch, then gets kind of uneven. but otherwise its worth it THE VERDICT Tone: 3/5 Projection: 5/5 Overall Sound: 4/5 Fit and Finish: 5/5 Structural Integrity: 4/5 Value for Money: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - 8/10 (pretty good)

A Great Steel.

By Jaymes Palmer

from Mohave Valley,AZ

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

Believe it or not but I first heard this cymbal at my school's Rock band class. The drumset was anonymously donated and it was a great set. When we had to put it together I found out that there was an extra cymbal, i thought it would be funny if i took it home to see if anyone noticed, and they didnt, but i do not regret stealing this cymbal because the sound is amazing, somewhat quick sustain, Bright, open, The perfect accent to other larger cymbals now that its busted im actually going to have to pay for my next one, which is a great price now that i look at it...

By Jordan Martinez

I bought it used and at a great price. Still not the sound I was looking for, but it does the job. Sounds bigger than it is and will be a great accent.

Gotta love those Zildjian A Custom cymbals

By Richard Moquin

from South Windsor, CT

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

I have several Ziljian A Custom cymbals; 6 inch, 10 inch, 12 inch, 14 inch, 14 inch hats, 15 inch, 16 inch, 18 inch, 20 inch rezo pang and 2 other 20 inchers. Recently I added an 8 inch splash because I can't resist the suble sound difference the smaller size cymbals provide. I can hear the specific pitch each cymbal resonates and they really make a kit well rounded with voices that create those accents you are looking for to complete the musical phrasing you see in your mind's eye. I have played other brand cymbals, but these are in my price range for quality and value for the buck. Even if I could afford pricier cymbals, I don't know if I would spend the extra money because I am happy with the sound these cymbals produce.

Quality Cymbal

By sam england

from Melbourne, Florida

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Splash Cymbal:

Great splash with a big quick sound and versatile tones. Eight inches worth every penny and far from cheaper, low quality cymbals. Currently above my ride on an eight inch stacker with no problems. Soon I'll add an a custom six inch splash on the left side of the set, as well as an a custom thin crash. I have it paired with z customs (ride, thin crash, hats) and it fits perfectly.
