I can't tell you how many diff cymbal brands I have had and diff model's. Nothing compares to Zildjian Cymbals...I started out with there ZXT line and now have upgraded to their A Custom Crash's ...Started out with the thin line...bad idea if you play rock or hit hard don't get them you will break them....I need replacements so I tried out the Projection Crashes and I must say they are amazing....they are loud and really cut through the music...there high pitched cymbals and I love them...I play with a 17inch and an 18in and they are perfect. Very Bright intial sound and then decay really fast. Plus they are shiny which are nice..not one complaint about them...BUY THESE

18" is as expected...versatile (including it can project loudly when needed), the tone I expected after checking the Zildjian website and a solid feel. Recommended. The 16" was a big disappointment except the appearance matches the 18". It sounds more like the 14" Sabian thin crash I sold but costs 71% more. It has more the feel of the Zildjian A series. It won't project as loudly as the 18" no matter how hard you hit it. Not recommended.

    Impressive Application

    By Juston Grant Jr

    from Niceville, Florida

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Projection Crash Cymbal:

This is the type of cymbal I have needed for years, it is suited for my application, It will be exactly what I have needed in different songs of the praise and worship band. especially in certain usage of dynamics, cymbal roll build up. I like it's somewhat sustaining effects. It is the largest crash I have purchased in probably 30yrs. I am so glad Zildjian came out with this type of cymbal, which another reason why I have used nothing but since 1968!

    Projection schmecktion!

    By Lawson Smith

    from california

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Projection Crash Cymbal:

The word projection should not have been used to describe this cymbal. Yes it sounds good it's a zildjian A custom. Does it project through loud heavy music? NO! NO it doesn't. Bring back the Zildjian A rock crash it did the job! Very disappointed in this poorly named cymbal.

16" A custom projection crash cymbal

    By Me-Dvcey

    from Minnesota

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Projection Crash Cymbal:

This cymbal is awesome. I got this cymbal and loved it and it sounds awesome. I really like it. One thing to be careful of is that you have to take good care of it so it stays clean touching it will leave finger prints if you touch it you should touch it on the sides.

WOW! This cymbal is a stunner! I bought mine used, but it looks and sounds new! This cymbal cuts through all my other cymbals (even my Wuhan china (WOW)) and its just so bright and awesome you would be a fool not to buy it! i have the 18" and i love it to death!

its a wee bit expensive new, so i would suggest looking for a used one. but WHAT A CYMBAL!X

Mine cracked on the 13th month

    By Ed-1blV0

    from florida

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Projection Crash Cymbal:

The cymbal sounds great if you hit it hard. If you tap it you don't get much of a sound which is understood. I have 4 of these on my kit and one of my two 18's cracked the other day. The cymbal was set up properly and hit properly with wooden 2B sticks. I's shocked it cracked! We'll see if Zildjian warranties it. I'll post back

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Projection Crash Cymbal:

i can't imagine a cymbal setup without an 18" a custom projection crash. it's been my go-to for 2+ years now and fits any situation. it's powerful, punchy, musical, and sings like a choir. pair it up with a 17" a custom crash.

    Love the tone

    By kylewagoner

    from Fort Ashby, WV

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Projection Crash Cymbal:

This is kind of my main crash. Not like the crash I hit on beat one, but the one I use if I'm playing quarter notes. Freaking great resonance. Great tone. It's really good for my style of music. I'd say that A Customs are made more for rock and things of that sort and not for jazz...as it's probably well-known. I got the 17". Love it.

    16, 17, and 18 inch

    By TamaImperial

    from West Coast

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Projection Crash Cymbal:

Great cymbals, but BEWARE. HARD HITTERS ONLY. There's a reason why Lars Ulrich and not many others use these. Anything less than a full stroke, and the cymbals don't make much of a noise. That said, hit them hard enough and they explode. Bright, cutting, and powerful. They will fulfill rock and metal needs of any kind, but don't put them on a jazz set and expect the type of performance you want.
