I have owned these cymbals for around two years, and over all, i would give them a 4.5 rating, but since the option isn't available, ill stick with a 5. They are wonderful cymbals, and are excellent cymbals for the price you pay.
First off, the hats. Personally, I like them, i would give them a 4.5 overall. I play a lot of gigs where i mic them, so i love the sound they give over a system, especially when they are opened. Playing without mics is a tad different. I still LOVE the sound they give off when left open, but they also do not have the greatest sound closed.
The 20' ride is a good cymbal, a solid 4. When played on as a crash ride, it has a really heavy sound, so heavy that it's almost washy or dull, but it fits and sounds perfect. Other times the cymbal sounds great. My only complaint is that the bell doesnt have a strong ping to it.
The 16' crash is a solid 5. It has a warm and light sound to it, and its beautiful if you want something bright.
The 18' cymbal is phenomenal. I would give it a 10 out of 5. It is perfectly dark, and it gives off a powerful attack. It is easily the best cymbal i have ever played, hands down. I would repurchase this pack again just for this cymbal.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

I love these cymbals. Bright, crisp sound. Very responsive. If you want bright, these will be the cymbals for you. You can't beat buying the cymbal pack- best value and a bargain when compared to buying each cymbal separately. They are strong too- I'm a heavy hitter and these have held up to the stress I put on them.

The medium ride has lot of sustain and does not have as much as a ping. I play rock and punk rock so this ride works well for that. When you hit it it just keeps ringing, so be prepared for that. At first I wasn't expecting it but as I played on it I got use to it. It's got quite a warm sound to it. Afterwards I got the A Custom Ping Ride to replace the Medium ride (for anyone who is considering buying it) but the Ping Ride is very dry and not nearly as warm as the Medium ride so I went back to the Medium Ride. But I still keep the Ping Ride around just to change it up from time to time. The crashes are explosive and very bright. The hats are LOUD! Much louder than the ZBT's which I was replacing. This pack was everything I hoped it would be and I just love the brightness and attack of these cymbals, they really do have their own distinct sound that I haven't heard in any other cymbals. These are some of the best cymbals Zildjian makes and you just can't go wrong. I've only had mine a year and anticipate these lasting me a long time. Highly recommended.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

I've had my eye on an A Custom pack for a long time now (probably 10 years) and I finally pulled the trigger. It hurt due to the price of the cymbals but man are they worth it.

My band plays a mix of 70s & 90s rock, 80s metal with the occasional punk thrown in (I know, what mix mix). They cymbals are perfect for all of it, if you want more of a modern metal sound (A7X) I recommend you go with the Ks.

At first I wasn't crazy about the ride, seemed too "crashy" at first but after playing it for a bit I figured out how to get that nice ride ping out of it but can crash it when I want to.

The 18" crash is awesome as most people have stated, excellent medium / dark sound for me. The 16" crash is probably the weakest (kind of high pitched) of the set but still sounds great for 90s music or punk.

The hi-hats are amazing, can't imagine playing on anything else now.

I waited a long time for these and I wasn't let down at all when I got them.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

I am getting back in to drumming after three years. I have my kit picked out but was debating on a cymbal pack. I looked at Paiste since I enjoyed them last time but decided to test the A Customs at my local store. I was immediately sold and blown away by the sound and quality. They are more expensive than a set of Paiste Pst5's and I was trying to keep the price down but learn from my mistakes; do not take shortcuts with finding your personal sound. Amazing set, best sound for the money.

As a drummer of 10 years it was nice to finally get a full, matched set. I was used to random cymbals and this set is an excellent upgrade. It provides a clean, consistent professional sound. The only downside I've noticed (and it's just a personal thing) is that they may sound too clean and standard, and therefore...typical. But I'm sure i'll get used to it. If you're not in the moarket for the Custom K's but want a professional sound, this is the set!

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Cymbal Pack with Free 18" A Custom Crash:

I got this pack as part of my first kit, just to fill it with cymbals, and I wanted high quality cymbals that could be used in multiple musical settings. This pack was an irresistible deal, as you save a lot compared to buying these separately. I was amazed with the quality and versatility of the A Custom series. The crashes are full, explosive, the 16" has a very bright tone while the 18" has a darker tone. The sustain is fairy short, but not to the point where each hit sounds choked. The hats, when played closed, have a tight, light click perfect for softer music, but when played open have a full, washy sound. The bell on the hats is surprisingly piercing. The ride is my least favorite of the bunch, as you have to play softly or with light sticks to get a well defined ping. However it is still bright enough and has decent enough stick articulation to hear each hit even when blast beating. It also has a nasty sounding dark crash, but be careful of breaking sticks. I added a Meinl Classics bell over the ride's bell because it sounds to similar to the rest of the cymbal. However, it still beats 90% of the other rides out there, and you can't beat the quality at this price. These cymbals are awesome! I have used many different size sticks and have found them to be capable in any genre, from jazz to extreme metal. I have used and abused these for the 9 months I've had them, and one could hardly tell save for a little scuffingt, but they polish up to that brilliant shine like I first got them. I will continue to use these until they give out, which may be in several years judging by the quality. I highly recommend these to players who like to play multiple styles and get a good sound in any application. I have added other Zildjians, Sabians, and Meinls to my kit, and still think the A Customs sound the best.
