By far, the most reliable crash I've ever had. It sounded amazing when I heard it at my local guitar center, sounded amazing when I took it home, sounded amazing at the first show I did with it, and still sounds amazing over two and half years later (yes, it has lasted that long). My set has undergone several changes over the past two years and this cymbal has been used for everything from main crash to ride/crash to accent-only crash. It goes with any kind of music and goes well. It is by far the most diversified crash I have ever had the joy of playing on. I would recommend this crash for anybody for any genre.

These sizes, from 14" to 20" in size...have VERY different sound. The kit at my school has a 17", which in my opinion sounds TERRIBLE. It's way too bright, doesn't have much "color", and surprisingly for a such a bright cymbal, doesn't have too much sustain, it even sounds kind of like my old B8 crash. The 19", on the other hand, blew me away, I was at GC and they had it on display with a DW Performance kit..Wow, that thing was beautiful, nice and complex shimmer, a nice long sustain probably due to the bell size, and the bell actually sounded great for a crash. Maybe it's just me, liking bigger and darker cymbals, but I'd recommend handing over a few extra bucks to get a bigger, better crash.

Happiness and joy delivered.... so nice...

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Crash Cymbal:

This symbol did not disappoint. It adds such beautiful mid/low color to my voice choices. I use this at times I had not thought I would while playing. Lower/mid impact strikes offer a unique opportunity for this big 19 inch due to it's weight and response action and gorgeous wash. I would never use my heavier 18 standard A's when I use this cymbal because of the inability to control the wash/volume that just come naturally to this cymbal. It has it's special, (PERMANENT, although my accountant would never believe that.... ), place in my setup and I am going to add a 16" Custom to go with this 19" and the 17" I have the next time I buy. Actually, I am going to try a 22 inch A Custom ride against a 21 Sweet ride... Got sidetracked there. I need a ride more than anything. Paiste 2002 heavy is too much cymbal for me any more. People change.
I am going to look at the 15" high hats as well although I am going to be hard pressed to replace my 14" Pastie Sigs and Zildjian A New Beats. Might be a good addition depending on the situation and my willingness to fork over the cash. Very happy.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Crash Cymbal:

I originally purchased an 18" K hybrid crash from zildjian as a main crash, and didn't quite like it (for a main crash) so I bought the 18" A custom and I love it! It's EXACTLY what I needed. Very bright and responsive! Great for crashing constantly on. Definitely my favorite crash from zildjian yet!

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Crash Cymbal:

Buying a crash cymbal is like your wife buying clothes, it takes time, and you need to try it and read reviews. I have the 20' crash, and it is amazing. I play drums for a few different groups in Las Vegas, and this crash is about as good as it gets. It is responsive for rolls, and also very precise for crashing on the chorus. It responds well for light hitters and accents, but also very well for heavy hitters. Riding on this cymbal sounds great and also feels great, you're not cutting through butter so you won't break to when you get excited. To accompany this cymbal, I also recommend K hybrid 19 for the more delicate individuals, and the 23' A zildjian sweet ride. This power trio is a match made in heaven!

When I received this cymbal, it literally look like it was buried, dug back up and thrown in a bag. I returned it in exchange for another "new" cymbal. Again, the 2nd one I received looks wore out .

My buddy plays for a church, so do I, and he has the 16'', and the 18''. The church I play for have zht cymbals, and contrary to popular belief those get the job done well. Plus, I don't have the guts to ask the church for A's. Anyway, I sat down at my buddy's kit and i thought that the 16'' was very solid. But, the big deal here is the 18''. PHENOMENAL. Very Dark, but I'm used to playing pretty bright cymbals... I'll be buying one of these shortly to use at other gigs.

Comments about Zildjian A Custom Crash Cymbal:

I love these cymbals. I use the A customs for my main crashes and a K dark for a third crash. I hear people talk about them breaking, if you mount your cymbals too high or too flat you will break these by chopping at them. I just replaced my 16" & 18" A custom crashes (that cracked) for 19" & 20" A's. For my sound the larger cymbals are perfect and less likely to break. Get the 3 year warranty!!!!!!!!!! Zildjian already gives you 2 years. My last crashes lasted 4 years and I practice twice a week and play out 1 to 2 times a month.

I am in a cover band, using the A Custom line of cymbals in all types and size clubs. I combo the A Custom Ping Ride, 16" crash and 17" crash. They are very durable cymbals and hold up well if you take care of them. Worth every penny, you get what you pay for.
