Distinct tones ideal for special accents and effects.

The large size Zildjian Zil-Bel Cymbal has a deep bell shape and a low pitch, while the smaller Zil-Bel features a bright, singing, musical tone. Both exhibit the unique raw qualities derived from the authentically traditional pouring and casting manufacturing technique that leaves slight imperfections on the mirror-like cymbal's polished surface.

  • lil demon

As reviewed by gothera on 11/30/2007

this thing rocks, its a definte must have for metal doublebass work, the trick to this lil monster is not to mount it the way the picture shows. this bell is VERY thick, mount it upside down kinda like a china so its a bowl not a bell, just try not to shatter to many sticks on it

  • amazing addition

As reviewed by Hunter S. on 7/8/2009

I've had a 6" Zil-Bel for about a couple of years now, and I see that people say on here that if you already have a ride and stuff that this thing is kind of pointless, but I strongly disagree. It's allll about how you use it. I mean I've got 2 ride cymbals AND a Zil-Bel. the Zil-Bel may be a good stand-in if your ride bell sucks, but it sounds so much different than a regular ride bell, it gives you so much more versatility. throw it in the middle of a fill or into some fast quads or even hit it at the same time you hit a crash to give some awesome effect. The key is creativity. Zil-Bels are awesome. buy one, and use it.

  • Sound makes for cool accents!

As reviewed by TikDrummer on 2/8/2010

This sounds great when you use it for accents, but you can also ride on it like a ride bell with a clearer sound. It has long sustain, but if you choke it, it goes silent instantly. I have it mounted upside-down over a crash, but it'd be best mounted near splashes so you could do more interesting, multipart accents.
