A brilliant, fundamental hi-hat pair for the beginner. A great all-purpose ride!
Zildjian employs a special alloy for the ZBT series cymbals. That's why this ZBT Hi-Hat Pair produces a sharp and focused sound with an excellent, bright "chick." This is your most used cymbal, so a good set of high hats can define your sound. Available in 13", 14" and 20" sizes.
You'll use your hi-hat more than any other cymbal you own, so you better like it. Order this pair and nail the essential hi-hat sound cold. Don't get taken for a ride - order yours from Guitar Center

Great Sounding Cymbal for very cheap
I bought this cymbal about a month ago to us at my band practices. The sound is outstanding for how cheap this cymbal is. It has a great "chick" sound when ever you hit it. This cymbal is great for beginner and intermediate players!

average, some good and bad
I bought the ZBT high hats a few months ago, and I don't think that they are worth the money. There are some good parts and some bad parts to this cymbal:
Good :
- not too expensive
- large change in volume depending on placement and speed of stick
- well intervaled tones
- great, melodic sound when completely open (no cymbal contact)
Bad :
-Goes almost directly from "smooth", "tick-tick" high hat to "sloshy" "rocky" high hat - you have to have "millimeter toe" control to have the volume / style you want
- Can become overpowering when sloshy

Pretty Good
I own the 14 inch hi-hats and played with them in a show. They sound pretty good and have a good overall chick. These hi-hats have a high pitched tone to them and you can also get a nice open hi-hat sound. If you close them tight, they'll make a weird noise, but the hats are great for the money.

Good First Pair
If these won't be your first decent par of hi-hats, don't get them. They're good to learn on, but an experienced musician would want more. They get a warm, crisp, dry sound, and sound good with other zbt's. They are very durable though. Good pair overall.

terrible....
Ok let me sum this up for you. Zildjian is a good company when it comes to top of the line. When it comes to entry level, These are pretty much trash. Now let mme tell you, I have played these, the B8pro, and the Paiste PST5 Hi hats (14"), and these are clearly last in comparison. The B8pro and PST 5 are both really good hats, and I myself own the PST 5 hats, and i love them, My Church has the B8 pros, I like them also. I prefer the B8pros if you like a High pitched noise, the PST5's if you like a medium-high pitch noise. Bottum line, ZBT's are bottum notch for their price, Get a paiste or sabian for this price. Now when it gets to the A customs, those are rocking, but like i said.....
