Power, projection and playability.

Zildjian Z3 Mastersound Hi-Hat Cymbals offer extra sizzle. The bottom cymbal's outer edge has individual contact points that help supply a clear and defined chic effect each and every time. The design also adds extra high-end sparkle to overtones when the cymbals are played partially open. Z3 hi-hats feature a medium top coupled with a heavy bottom for extra power.

Zildjian's Z3 Cymbal Series achieves a new level of power and clarity with rock cymbals that retain an abundance of sensitivity and response. Using a design that can only be achieved with Zildjian's state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, the exciting Z3 cymbals are among the most musical and powerful rock cymbals ever produced.

The Zildjian Z3 cymbals' unique lathing process creates a more pronounced tonal groove design for great projection and power. A one-of-a-kind computer hammering process creates a special symmetrical hammering pattern.

  • AWESOME

As reviewed by michael fenton on 8/13/2010

AWESOME HATS!!!! LOUD STICK PLAY! VERY GOOD SIZZLE. these hats are cast bronze like the other pro zildjians. machine made or hand made you ask? no cymbals in the world are made by hand alone. they all must be processed in machinery. these are categorized on zildjians website a cast cymbals just like the other top line series, NOT SHEET BRONZE. listen to these cymbals before you buy them as every buyer should do. these may very well be your favorites. I like 15" version

  • Great Sound and Feel

As reviewed by Kevin on 8/15/2010

I've had the opportunity to play the these in the 14" size, and while they're certainly a little pricey, considering some Ks are much more, these definitely have an edge that the Ks lack. For example, I find the Ks to be great for pretty much everything but rock and above, e.g. metal, punk, thrash, etc. These hats have great projection and sizzle without any of that cheap, tinny sound that some of the more "affordable," stamped cymbals possess. Played properly, they can also be pretty musical - enough so to be used for hard and heavy blues, funk, or country, for example. These are not strictly 'rock' cymbals, in my opinion. Stick definition is nice, so doing rolls are clean and pronounced. They have a decent 'chick' to them, and when you lay into them with accented eights...yow! I can't see these having trouble cutting through anything.

  • Matt Urella

As reviewed by Matt on 4/20/2011

Having played both sizes, along with hihats like Sabian AAX, HHX, many Zildjians and these are my favorite hihats i've played on. My style is more metal, rock, and alternative and thats what these cymbals work best with. They have a great sound both open and tightly closed (especially the 15" pair). These are very durable cymbals just like most others in the Z3 line. They are much louder then my A custom 14"'s and while my A Customs have been great i look foward to getting the 15" Z3 Mastersound when they finally give in. If your looking for a reliable, durable, heavy, and great sounding hihat pair, try them out, and you wont be dissappointed. Dont knock them until you've played them yourself
