New K Zildjians made with the input of the ultimate groove master!

The Zildjian K Custom Session Hi-Hat Cymbals were designed with Steve Gadd and feature his distinctive cymbal sound. Steve worked with the Zildjian Sound Lab for several years to reproduce the classic and sought-after sound of his cymbals. The resulting hi-hats feature a 13-15/16" medium-weight top, 14" medium-thin bottom, and have a sharp, defined "chick." Like Gadd himself, the K Custom Session cymbals are versatile enough for any playing and recording situation.

  • Completely Awesome!

As reviewed by Josh on 2/17/2009

A buddy of mine just picked these up and brought them over in the middle of a jam session. We switched out the Sabian hats I had on before for these and to hear the difference was like night and day. They're clean, crisp, and very expressive. Their ability to produce accurate dynamics and still retain attack and precision is astounding. Steve Gadd certainly put a little bit of groove in these bad boys. And for something truly amazing: try some hi-hat stomps on these cymbals. You will be reaching for your credit card. Get these cymbals!

  • Two sets, both amazing

As reviewed by Adam Smith on 6/20/2011

I had played several different hats and was pretty happy with the ones I had. I had been playing the recording ones (they're small - I think it was 12"?) at church and it was perfect for a smaller group, but as the size of the church grew it was time for something full-sized. Also, at school we had been using a pair of A Custom hats that also sounded good. I went to the Tukwila Guitar Center and found these, and fell in love with them immediately. The other reviewer is right on with his description - they sound amazing. I bought a pair for the church and I still love them years later. The set at the school which replaced the A Customs was a pair of K Hybrids, which sounded great, but one of the kids bashed on them way too hard and they both cracked. I was given permission to replace them from administration and immediately I ordered a pair of these online, and again they were amazing. The drummers were all talking about them as soon as we put them on the kit. We use these for everything from jazz band to pep band to pop/rock/etc. for worship team at the school, and they sound terrific for all of it. Very responsive, the 'chick' is clean, they can get quiet and they can get messy. Can't go wrong with having them on a DW hat stand either - just saying.
