Product Information

Professional cymbal with multiple tonal options.

Developed in conjunction with leading drum stylist Akira Jimbo, the professional-quality Zildjian K Kustom Hybrid Crash cymbal features an innovative brilliant/traditional surface that produces different tones depending on where the cymbal is played for a musical "darkness with brilliance" combination. The inner half features the unlathed, brilliant finish of the K Custom Ride, while the outer half features the traditionally finished K Zildjian lathing. The unlathed section helps control the wash and sustain, making it ideal for recording and live situations.

The relatively thin design of the crash results in a very responsive quality. It opens up quickly but still has the ability to project loudly and cut into dense mixes due to the unlathed bell.

"Maximum versatility is the main idea with the Hybrid series. I worked with Zildjian to design a line of cymbals where brilliance and darkness coexist. I think the sound we came up with sets the new standard for the 21st Century."-Akira Jimbo

A Must Have

If you are a serious drummer/percussionist, then this is a must have! I have tested them in multiple playing situations from acoustic driven rock and country to blistering head banging metal and have yet to be disappointed. I also have the Hybrid splashes which are equally as fantastic. They go very well with other cymbals such a the A Customs and even Sabian's Paragons nonetheless! Of course the only gripe I have with the Hybrids is the heavy price tag but you get what you pay for. If you can afford even one of them I highly recommend them!

Blazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love my 17" Hybrid, I'm very serious when it comes to my K's (thats all a play)I don't car for the K customs that much I'm a huge fan of the Traditional K's(older/original) but Zildjian has definitely did themselves and me a favor with producing these awesome Hybrids, and I love the hats even though I don't own them yet I've played them and I'll be adding them to my stash with my 13" A cst. mastersounds....

Beautiful cymbal

I had been looking forever for a cymbal to offset my K Custom Dark crash. I wanted a bright and "brilliant" cymbal and had tried the A Customs and the A Custom fast crash's. They are wonderful cymbals, but didnt seem to project like I wanted. Finally, I stumbled upon the K Custom Hybrid crash. This cymbal is full bodied and bright with a beautiful wash and nice high end. Im very happy with my purchase and just wish the cymbal came in even sizes too. I love it.

Can you love a cymbal?

Yes you can, and this is it. I loved my 17" K Hybrid so much I bought the 19" as well. The sounds I get from these cymbals are amazing. I use them for rock music, but they would be great Jazz cymbals as well. Check them out.

K Custom Hybrid Crashes, perfection at last

Boy do I love these cymbals, and excellent addition to an already great line of cymbals, being the K Customs. Out of all the Zildjian cymbals I think the K Custom Hybrids are my favorites. The crashes are odd-sized which always appeals to me, as I like being different. But the number of sounds you can pull from the hybrids is nearly endless. You can definitely attribute this to the combination of lathing and unlathing and traditional and brilliant finishes on the cymbal. If you play all types of music and need one set of cymbals go for these. I just wish they were out when I revamped my cymbal setup, because I'm stuck with my next favorite crash cymbals the A Custom Thin Crashes. Do yourself a favor and try these out today. They were more than I expected them to be.
