Got the 22", it weighs 2600+ grams...a bit on the heavy side for a constantinople medium. Being a constantinople, it has a warm complex wash, and a woody click that sticks out (no pun intended) :) very versatile for studio work. It won't cut through on loud gigs but would work well on funk / rock gigs. Would be a decent choice for acoustic jazz, but you'd be better off with a lighter cymbal if you're looking for something solely for low volume situations. Apart from the price, I can't think of anything bad to say about the kcon medium!

  • dug from the earth

This cymbals is the opposite of your shinning light. You find it in the back of a cave half buried in the ground. The over-hammered Constantinople creates a very earthy/dirty sound with an extremely dark, "thick bell". Perfect for experimental combo jazz it gives good definition and a beautiful dark wash. Given in a natural finish. it still gives off a shine of its own unique properties.

  • constantinople ride

As reviewed by Matt on 6/1/2010

the constantinople series cymbals are some of the most musical cymbals on the market. My school uses these ride cymbals for concert percussion and in the marching band front ensemble. they generate a warm sound and are wonderful for swells. i wouldn't recommend these for drum set however. they sustain for what seems like forever, which i personally do not like for a ride sound. but in ensemble settings, these cymbals soar!
