A reactive tremolo that responds to the motion of your foot!
The Tremolo Probe from ZVex is basically a cross between a theremin volume control and a ZVex Super Hard-On preamp pedal, giving you responsive, realtime control over the effect.
At the he heart of the Tremolo Probe pedal is a Super Hard-On circuit combined with a probe controller circuit that ZVex developed. You can tap on this pedal with your foot to make lovely tremolo sounds that are in time with your foot's movement, syncing perfectly to your performance or the band's tempo changes. You can also use the Tremolo Probe to make reverse-sounding volume swells or pedal-steel type volume effects.
How does it work?
A copper antenna projects a field of RF energy that is affected by your foot (or other appendage), altering the circuit that generates it, increasing the brightness of the pedal's LED and controlling the master volume of the output. A knob on the back of the Tremolo Probe lets you set the drive, distorting in an interesting way when cranked.
Note: Due to the nature of each hand-painted Tremolo Probe pedal, there may be a slight difference in design from the posted image.
