Overview

The Lunchbox Cab is built on the platform of ZT's highly acclaimed Lunchbox amplifier. It's a Lunchbox without the amp-a passive extension speaker, with the same solid-as-a-brick cabinet housing the same custom-design 6.5" driver used in the ZT Lunchbox amp.

Weighing less than 7 pounds, the Cab can blast out over 120dB, and sounds great doing it. The Cab also features a phase switch to provide accuracy in any situation.

Connect the passive speaker cabinet to the Lunchbox amp's external speaker output and build a Lunchbox stack (it's adorable-like ferocious puppies or kittens). Or spread them apart a few feet to create spatial imaging. Or go further and put the ZT Cabs on opposite sides of the stage and give your sound a dimension that will make the crowd's heads swim.

*Note: Early production Lunchbox amps (serial numbers LB02 0000 1000 through LB02 0000 2999) are not optimized for use with the Lunchbox Cab. Please verify that your Lunchbox is compatible before you add a cab, particularly if you expect to play at very high levels.

Comments about ZT Lunchbox Cab 1X6.5 Passive Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

First: if you do not own a ZT Lunchbox, get one now.

Second: if you play with a drummer who hits extremely hard and uses an unmuted 26" kick drum, you will probably need two Lunchboxes, in all fairness.

Third: if you want to fatten up the sound a bit, the Lunchbox Cab is the only way to go.

I carry my entire rig + all of our band's merch in two milk crates. I point one of the ZT stacks at our drummer (also heard by our bassist & singer), and I point the other stack toward the audience (and my back). We are a very loud band; our hand is rather forced by our drummer's kit, and style.

The Lunchbox was always sort of mythical to me; I read reviews about it, but I was like, sure, right, but can it keep up with a drummer in a good-sized room? The answer is, a single Lunchbox, by itself, can be too directional and get lost in the group if it is not miked up. Pick up two, well, now, you can add some chorus and create a stereo rig, huge spread, heavenly. But still a bit directional feeling. With the addition of the Lunchbox Cabs, it is just ridiculous. 2 x 200 watts, 4 x 6.5" speakers. People's jaws literally drop. Other musicians who have seen us play are absolutely incredulous. We are LOUD. Four 6.5" speakers.

I had played Boogies since 1988; I never envisioned that I would stray. And seriously loud stuff: a Quad into a 295 through two 4 x 12 M/B Road Ready cabs, then a Triaxis through a 20/20 into two 1 x 12 M/B Thiele cabs. The ZT Lunchbox pulls it off, and then some.

My rig: custom 24-fret Ibanez S (sometimes SG Diablo) > Line 6 wireless > dbx 266 stereo compressor (looking to substitute with a Maxon CP-9 pedal, which claims to have a dbx 160 built in) input 1, infinity:1, output 1 into input 2, infinity:1 > boss GE-7 equalizer pedal (for solo gain and mid-boost) > Ibanez CS9 stereo chorus pedal > twin ZT Luncbox + ZT Lunchbox Cab stacks. It is nothing short of phenomenal. If you want to tour in a Smart ED, it can be done. Our whole band has toured in a Prius. The bass cabinet and that drum set are still making it pretty cramped (we are a quartet), but it can be done.

All Hail the Mighty ZT Lunchbox Twin Double Stack!

    Good cabinet

Comments about ZT Lunchbox Cab 1X6.5 Passive Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

This cabinet sounds almost as good as a 1x12 cabinet. It's really close. The amazing thing is that nothing this size sounds this good. The phase switch makes a pretty big difference in the tone. When I first hooked it up I was not happy at all then I flipped the phase switch and it made a big difference. The one thing that baffles me with the Lunchbox guys is that they don't include instructions or tips in the box. I know that's a minor gripe but a little explanation to what the phase switch actually does would be nice.

Comments about ZT Lunchbox Cab 1X6.5 Passive Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Great for home use, or rehearsing with your band. This little amp can get really loud despite it's size. You won't get a better sounding amp for this prize, it handles both clean and crunch perfectly. I'm very happy with it.

    Lunchbox Cab

    By

Comments about ZT Lunchbox Cab 1X6.5 Passive Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I have the ZT Amp's Lunchbox, it is a great amp. It is very powerful with 200 watts of power, just make sure that you have enough power for it, not plugged into a surge protector. Now with the extra cab, it basically doubles the power of your lunchbox. It is also very easy to carry around and saves tons of space. Get it if you have the Lunchbox!
