Portability and power are the foundation of the impressive ZT amp product line. Founder Ken Kantor, a self-professed audiophile, initially set out to create a compact amp that had just as much power as the big boys. With a ton of work and dedication, his flagship Lunchbox amp was created and has repeatedly blown away performers.

Founded in 2008 in Berkley, California, ZT’s founder and a collection of engineers wanted to create an amp that had a vintage feel and the best modern components and technology available. Kantor chose to focus on the speakers instead of the circuitry of amps, believing that a bad speaker meant losing critical information about the various tonal elements of a composition. With an ear for solid tweeters, Kantor chose accordingly to ensure his amps were the best they could be.

There is a staggering array of artists that call ZT amps their own. From Steve Wynn to Jeff Tweedy, the dynamic speaker power and compact nature of these amps allowed them to be incorporated into both recording setups and live shows. Jeff Tweedy is actually known for using multiple ZT amps in his web, radio and live performances.

If you’re looking to include this kind of power into your own stage setup The Club or The Lunchbox 200W combo amps are great options. The Club can easily deliver 200 watts of output over 130 decibels even with a small 12” driver, while The Lunchbox weighs a slight 10 pounds and packs the same amount of intense wattage capabilities. ZT continually proves that major power doesn’t have to come in a giant package.

ZT already has a seriously impressive roster of artists showcasing their tiny amps on stage in front of thousands. So regardless if you’re a musical veteran or just starting out, these amps are a great option for their portability and price point. Their famous fans simple prove that a ZT amp will be in your life way beyond your novice years.
