  • ZT Lunch Box Jr. is great for a practice amp or portable amp for small gigs

As reviewed by Robert Jones on 7/31/2012

I bought the lunchbox Jr because it is super tiny but not a toy. A lot of the other amps at this size have battery inputs and max out at around 3-5 watts. The Jr runs at 35 Watts and Peaks at 80. I'll be it that peaking at 80 watts with amp isn't the best sounding thing in the world. The amp has a 9V output to power pedals and I make good use of that by putting a Big Muff or a Tube Screamer in front of the input. The headphone out is useful for practicing, especially when you use the AUX input for an MP3 player. I travel quite a bit and the fact that it has switchable voltage is awesome. I play guitar in Japan, California and Germany at least a few times a year and this the only amp that can fit on my carry on and switch voltages and has a standard IEC input. I would say this amp is cool for getting cool dirty tones but if you are looking for the end all of clean tones, this is probably not the amp for you. Don't get me wrong the clean sound is decent but I wouldn't say its the best I've heard.
