Decided on these because I was on a tight budget. I've owned JBL SRX and Cerwin Vega dual 15" woofer cabinets. These don't sound as good as either. While their sound is not as full, they are very durable, very clear, and cover a dancefloor well. I power each with a Crown XTi2002 in bridged-mono. They are loud enough to rock gigs without feeling like I don't have enough coverage. I think other options like the EV Live X and JBL PRX passive are not nearly as durable or capable of low-end for dance music. Its a budget-friendly purchase that will most likely leave you satisfied at your gig. Having owned better cabinets that cost 3x more, its hard for me to say these sound "amazing". The positive side is that they are very clear even though they are not as full as an EV Tour X which costs double. The main reason I scored under a 4 is because Yamaha should have offered better in their 5th generation of the same product. They could have offered a better speaker for a slightly higher price point. They could have made it bi-amp. They could've used birch wood. They could've used better woofers than low-end Eminence. To their credit, the fiberglass insulation and heavy duty construction can't be denied as they last a long time with most users. Its budget friendly.

They Rock!!!

Comments about Yamaha S215V Club Series V Speaker:

I have been using a pair of these for each of my DJ set-ups for almost 10 years now. I have never had a single problem with one ever. No bad soldering, cab design or sound issiues...EVER!!! I also own a set of JBL SRX 725's and I'd say with vast experience that these speakers give them a run for thier money and have massive change to spare. I don't even use a sub with them unless its over 300 people and I get compliments every event on the sound. Lager shows, I put a SW118V under each and larger shows I use all 4 SW215's and all 4 SW118's. I tell ya Yamaha kicks some serious booty. I am considering selling my SRX's and buying more of these.

Excellent Cabinet Construction - Real Wood!

By David Sadler

from Commercial Point, OH

Comments about Yamaha S215V Club Series V Speaker:

I wanted to point out that the Yamaha S215's Club Speakers are made completely from 3/4" Birch Plywood. Most of the other Yamaha Club Series Speakers are made with 3/4" MDF/Composite type wood. The cabinet design and construction is excellent. Internal bracing is notched/ported to serve as baffles (to cancel standing waves)as well. It is obvious Yamaha took the time to thoroughly design their speakers. Great job Yamaha!

hold up amazingly

By monkey's_uncle

Comments about Yamaha S215V Club Series V Speaker:

I bought a pair of these a few months ago. My band has used them for a lot of shows. I've been running them on the soundcraft GigRac 1000st. With 500 watts per side, they crank. I cant imagine how loud they are with 1,000. The good thing is, you can also get the same clarity at low volumes. At 101 pounds per speaker, you only need one person to carry them (if you plan on using them a lot and don't want to carry them, invest in a hand truck). This is a must buy for musicians looking for bigger, better sound.

Nice Cabinets for 2 way sound!

Comments about Yamaha S215V Club Series V Speaker:

I used a pair of these for an indoor gig. They performed well. They do not disperse well, but are warm and sound great for what they are designed for. If ran with subwoofers, they would be awesome!

Comments about Yamaha S215V Club Series V Speaker:

I was first looking into buying the JBL SF25's, but I was coaxed into looking at these new Yamaha's... I am glad that I did because these are best speakers I have heard. They pump out deep lows while maintaining clarity in the highs. I recommend these speakers to anyone...

Incredible power handling and quality

By Houseman2

from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Yamaha S215V Club Series V Speaker:

This cabs are excellent for live bands. They are remarkably light for their size and use all eminence cast frame woofers. The Crossover offers built-in compression driver protection that auto resets. Great Bass and Highs. I run them with 18" single subs and they blow off the roof.
