I recently puchased the Yamaha S08 and am thoroughly excited with it. I am a beginner and find this piece of equipment to be sheer 'Quality' and 'Oh what a value for the price. It is extremely easy to use and has fantastic sound with the KRK Rokit 5's and Rokit 10 sub-woffer I purchased with it. Excellent job Yahama... I can't wait to get more involved with it as I take my lessons, something I've wanted to do now for years. With my limited experience, I would recommend the S08 and KRK monitors and woofer to anyone thinking of a first time purchase, as weel as those experience musicians looking for a GREAT setup!!!
I originally was going to get the Yamaha YPG-625 but my dad didnt like it so he started looking at other keyboards and when he saw this one he didnt stop playing it. I sat down, gave it a try, and I too fell in love with it. The 88 weighted keys are perfect, the sound is about a 9.8/10, features are good so far (havent used all of them yet to full potential, lol), the tech interface is fairly easy to use. I would recommend this synth to anyone from serious beginners to highly advanced crazy fast playing physco's. Its a awsome synth for a crazy low price in my opinion lol im suprised its not $2000... it's worth it
This thing has served me well in every occasion that I've played it in so far. It has taken a ton of abuse as well in all the shows and events I've played in, and I've never had any problems with it. It has always been very reliable and it is an extremely versitile instrument. I highly recommend it for experienced keyboardists who want to become more serious with their instrument; whether it be recording or playing shows, this thing is awesome.
I previously had a 76 key non-weighted yamaham keyboard and am so glad to have stuck with yamaha and to get the full 88 weighted-key. it sounds great, has hundreds of sounds and has a great realistic, acoustic piano touch. i recommend for serious, dedicated piano players or hobbyists where they could store away & still have something realistic to an acoustic piano to play.
