These would be a good set of headphones to get if you need something portable on a small budget. These headphones have an excellent price and they have a solid value. They have a 1/4" plug, and they sound pretty good, but I would not say that they are the best sounding headphones on the market. They tend to sound a little muddy and they may not be the best choice for a serious musician. They may be a good backup set or good for casual listening.

I knew at the reasonable price these would not be high-end but went on the reputation of the brand, Yamaha. But for ten dollars more you can get much better-sounding headphones from another brand. The sound on these headphones are dry, distant and dull. No real texture at all. I'm very disappointed as I can't use these for mixing which was my intention.

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

Nothing fancy about these, but they work and sound just fine. I use them for personal recording and i-pod listening. I hope they hold up. Only time will tell on that one. For the price, I feel good about this purchase.

    Good Value

    By Robert

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

Good headphones for recording. I use these for tracking because the sound doesn't bleed into the mic. I wouldn't recommend these for mixing though. For the price a nice set to just listen and record on. Con: My first pair 1 cup broke right after a year. I was a little ruff on them but I bought two more pair so I think they will last longer if you are gentle.

    Great headphones at great price!

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

These headphones put out great clear sound and blocks out ALL sorrounding noise. I use them with a Yamaha ES Motif and every not comes through crystal clear. You can't beat them for the price and they truly give Bose some competition.

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

These headphones sound good, they come with a 1/4 - 1/8 adapter so you can use them with an amp or an mp3 player. I also like that they fold up which makes it easy to take with you. They are also very comfortable for extended use.

    Very Nice

    By SeAhN 923

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

These are absolutely AMAZING... I used to always go and get the cheapy headphones from a regular store and they kept breaking so bought more and more. I spent over 70 dollars on cheap head phones and finally decided to get good quality for one medium price. Also on the cheap headphones they can only plug into music players... The Yamaha ones can go into an amp or screw off the plug, it can go into a music player. These are what I would recommend to any one who really wants high quality for a good price. Oh they are very comfortable, too.

    Great for recording

    By Jesse Farrah

    from Silverton, OR

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

These are perfect for active playback while recording. They hug your ears pretty tight and cut down the escaping sound pretty well. I bought several pairs for my home studio. They are pretty comfy for long recording sessions. My main complaint is that they have a pigtailed cord, this make them sort of a pain even with a long extension on. They tend to drag to the left when standing due to the cord. They seem to be made pretty solid and it's nice they collapse like they do. The sound they make is average nothing really spectacular, however they seem to have better response than anything in this price range especially in the lows. I wouldn't recommend doing much monitoring or mixing with them though. If you need lots of headphones and don't want to go bankrupt buying them this is a pretty solid option.
