This bass is a great buy for the price. It has a powerful, full sound that makes even my old amp sound good. The pick-ups are huge. It looks great and sounds as good or even better than my older Fender bass. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a great bass at a good price. This bass competes with the higher end, expensive basses.
This is an awsome bass for the price. I've had it since 2006. It is much easier to play than my Fender Jass Bass and has much deeper low end! With a little set up, it increased the ease of payability. The pots became scratchy but that was corrected with electrical contact cleaner. The pickups are so hot thta you have to be gentle with the strings or else you will get popping noises. The finish has started to chip but not badly. This is a bass I play exlusively (want to get rid of the fender jazz...hate it) until I find something better.
I bought this bass about three years ago. I was very happy with it initially, but after a year or so it started to get on my nerves. Two of the knobs fell off and the finish was chipping off. The equalizer didn't give much variety and the humbuckers caught a lot of ugly popping noises when i played it. However, the action is great for a cheaper bass. It also stayed in tune for weeks. Overall I think there are much better basses out there.
I own quite a collection of basses, and this Yamaha is in the top 3. It has great feel and tone. Never had any problems with it. I like this bass as much or more than ones I've paid 4 times as much for.
I bought this bass 4 years ago as the second bass I ever had, and it is a great bass. It has a great tone, a great feel, and it looks sweet. I especially like the thumb grooves built into the pickups. My only complaint is that the pickups are so beastly they run on batteries which need to be replaced every few days. If you can get past that, then you're set!
I bought this bass a couple yeasrs ago and I freakin love it! There's fret buzz here and there but its still a great bass. Definitely worth the price for the quality of this bass. Buy it now!
This bass is amazing I have owned it for over a year and it is awesome. The active EQ produces a bright and powerful tone that sticks out well! It is kinda on the heavy side but you get used to it. I highly reccomend this to anyone who is interested in a 5-string bass!!!!
This bass is by far a great buy. The price isn't too much, nor could it be considered "cheap". The tone knobs give anyone that perfect sound. I LOVE the humbuckers. This bass pops VERY well. The sound is really clean and bright. I wouldn't trade it for any other bass on the market.
I tryed the Yamaha RBX375 5-String Bass Guitar at my local music store through a Hartke combo amp. The eq and pick-up blend knob helped to make some nice tones slap, funk, low b stuff.I Liked the phat pick-ups they generate some nice tone. The neck felt solid and well proportioned, nice action off the shelf.
