Comments about Yamaha PSR-S550B Arranger Workstation Keyboard:
I am a pro musician, mostly guitarist, but love keys also. I had a Yamaha psr740 10 years ago, and composed an instrumental cd using it. This keyboard is very similar, and I have already composed a new tune on my second day. Easy to use, even by numbskull standards. This instrument has very easy to access sounds and with headphones on can provide many hours of creative fun for just about anyone who likes music. As for performance, it is lightweight for gigs, and has a great 16 track sequencer with pen drive storage ability for building a library of songs. The sounds are various levels of quality, but have more than enough to build some great soundscapes. I have always loved the Yamaha Grand signature sound over most electronic keyboards. The effects DPS are good quality, and preset rythms give some good inspiration as well as realistic when used correctly. I would say that you could spend a lot more money on another keyboard and be less impressed or satisfied. As for me, I will have a lot of studio fun with this before I am compelled to get something else.
