Yamaha P7000S Dual-Channel Power Amp sounds good but the fans cannot keep up with the heat. I was using it with the S118 passive sub-woofers and switched to QSC RMS2450 power amp. This amp will deliver 500 per channel (8 Ohms); Yamaha says 700 per channel but it does look so. When it gets hot it might deliver only 400 watts.
purchased a p 7000 and it lasted 30 minutes with a moderate load put on it.running everything correct and it blew beyond any repair that even the best tech could figure out.plus non transferable warranty.so all in all its in my weekly garbage pile to go to the dumpster. great waste of money. the cheapest amp u can find on here will do a better job.lost all faith in yamaha
Some time ago I purchased the P7000S power amp from my local Music store. I was skeptical as to whether the amp would drive a 2 ohm load for our four (4) monitor speakers on one side, while powering a 4 ohm load (2 speakers) for the mains, on the other side. After much assurance from the Music store I gave this amp a whirl. Let me tell you... not only did it handle the load smoothly, it soared! After a few jobs I am still in amazement with this amp. It's half the weight of other amps, and a real power-house to boot. Take my word for it... don't be afraid to drive this "Bad Boy"! It doesn't even work hard enough to get more than slightly warm to the touch. the Sound is great and has lots of "fullness". Between songs it's dead quiet as well... which is much appreciated by all. Don't be afraid to drive a two ohm load..... it ROCKS!!!
