The silent guitar is crafted with a lightweight composite body (dressed in a limited-edition black metallic exterior), a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard.
The Yamaha silent guitar conveniently breaks down quickly to fit into an included gig bag for easy transport.
Electronics include piezo in-bridge pickups and an internal digital signal processor that reproduces the natural-sounding reverb of a user-selected acoustic space.
The Yamaha silent guitar has mini-stereo inputs to plug in a CD player for play-along. The practice guitar interfaces with the Yamaha AG Stomp. Yamaha includes a gig bag with the Limited Edition Nylon String Silent Guitar.

Basically, Yamaha put the Silent Guitar neck and body piece through their electric guitar body paint spray booth instead of putting down a satin natural finish. I would recommend a classical guitar for those who want to play classical. This is more suited to those who want to dabble in classical or play modern latin rock or jazz. Electrics are okay. You can alter the final EQ from whatever amp you are plugged into. The reverb is so-so and not something you want if recording. Yes, it's silent so you can practice with headphone and there is no resonating body to amplify plucking and strumming. I liked this guitar to add a softer tone to contemporary music and make it a bit bossa nova when I could make it fit. The upper and lower bands are removable and are kept in place with screws. Makes transporation and storage simple. It has an upper and lower strap button so you can play it standing.
