Works Well

When purchased I was not aware the pedals would be plastic. Everything feels solid but wish the pedals would have been medal to give more of a piano look and feel.

Well it looks very nice but here's the catch. The somewhat forward position on the stand does not allow full leg extention for best comfort. I am 5' 10". I find myself either having to push away from the keyboard or hold my leg in a less than comfortable spot. While the included sustain pedal can easily drift, it still allows your to stretch to a comfortable position. I am considering removing the LP-7 and putting back the good ole sustain pedal. The other two pedals on the the LP-7 don't lend much to my intermediate level of play. Hope this helps.

Comments about Yamaha LP-7 Pedal Unit:

It fits perfectly on my DGX650B. Something should be done about that gray color. The damper pedal works just fine but it hurts the feet after a long time. Kids might find it difficult to depress for a long time. There is barely any difference the soft pedal does used. The middle pedal is practically without any use - except there is something I am yet to learn about it.

Comments about Yamaha LP-7 Pedal Unit:

I absolutely love the pedal unit. A DGX 660 is not complete without this unit. Not only it extends the sound of the piano voices, it also extend other instruments, making the DGX sounds even more realistic. Now, if I can figure out how the foot pedal that comes with the DGX works.... it is a bit flimsy.

Should be included.

Comments about Yamaha LP-7 Pedal Unit:

If you buy the DGX 660 you need this, they go together. So much better than the little pedals that slide around.

An important accessory.

Comments about Yamaha LP-7 Pedal Unit:

This pedal Unit is a crucial addition since one gains the use of two extra pedals. It also stabilizes the piano stand at the bottom. I'm a piano teacher and would advise adding this accessory to the piano purchase.

No More Wandering Sustain Pedal

Pros

    • Pedals are made of plastic. Cheap Design.
    • Wire is about 3 inches too short to hide all.

Comments about Yamaha LP-7 Pedal Unit:

Cross bar is very heavy duty. However, I'm not sure the plastic pedals will hold up for years with 10-20 hours of use per week. The connecting cable is about 3 inches too short to be completely hidden.

Comments about Yamaha LP-7 Pedal Unit:

the Sustain pedal doesnt compare to the separate pedals you can buy. Pedals are small and you really have to press them ALL THE WAY DOWN for them to activate and then any movement upwards will release the switch. I will use them since they are the only multipedal units I could find.

      Does NOT fit Yamaha DGX650

      By VARacing123

      from No VA

      Verified Buyer

Comments about Yamaha LP-7 Pedal Unit:

The pedals work fine, though the action is a little stiff. Ordered this unit with the Yamaha DGX650. In the picture of the DGX650 it shows the optional "LP7A" Looking on musician's friend (at the time) there was no LP7A listed; only the LP7. I ordered the LP7 thinking "what's the difference." Oddly, the box that arrived said "LP7A" on it, so I guess there is no difference. But though Yamaha states that the LP7A will fit the DGX650, it does not. The wood plank that goes from one end of the stand to the other is not long enough.

The pedals still plug into the DGX650 and work as pedals, and the pedals will basically stand up on it's own, but I'm going to have to cobble something together to keep that wood plank in place.
