Overview

If you are looking for an acoustic guitar with powerful sound and great playability at a reasonable price, try Yamaha's LL16-12 12-string guitar. Yamaha's traditional jumbo body guitar is rich in volume and clear in resonance, with excellent projection, wide dynamic range, and well-balanced tone. This Yamaha acoustic guitar is designed and crafted especially for professionals.

The Yamaha LL16-12 12-string acoustic guitar and all L-series guitars benefit from 8 non-scalloped braces that deliver tone that is thick and well focused. The bridges on all Yamaha L-Series guitars offer more overall mass than their predecessors to deliver greater tone from these instruments. Their smooth lines and edges keep the playing surface unencumbered. The LL16-12's neck uses a 3-ply design of rosewood between two layers of mahogany, creating a neck that is exceptionally strong and stable—great for those players who prefer low string height. Includes case.

Yamaha LL-16-12

By John Mullen

from Lowell Ma

Comments about Yamaha LL16-12 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

I did my homework on this one and it payed off. The day I picked it up from GC I only had time to put a quick tune on it. The next day the tuning was right on. After 3 hard strumming songs, including Pinball Wizard the guitar held up better than my left hand was. The intonation was perfect and it felt really comfortable. It rings and has great sustain, harmonics are very audible in fact 7th fret the ring on all 12 is amazing. The neck is just the right size for me. Not to fat just right I'll say. Sounds great, stays in tune very well,is sized right and I know that many pros, play it for all the above.

Full, Clear & Crisp

By Scott Lingen

from Dublin, California

Comments about Yamaha LL16-12 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

This Yamaha 12 string is an amazing buy for the money. It is beautifully styled with its 12 gold tuning keys and abalone accents and it sounds even better than it looks. The rosewood back and sides and the spruce top give it a rich and clear tone that fills the room, and the neck is narrower than a lot of 12 strings so it's easy to play. I bought it online because they didn't carry it in any of the stores in Northern California, and I've been thrilled ever since I picked it up.

Sweet and bassy

By Gary T

from 29 Palms, CA

Comments about Yamaha LL16-12 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

I love the rich sweet upper ends and the bassy lowers. I had a Breedlove 12 before I bought this and I was a little concern. The price of this one was about 1/2, and it didn't have any onboard electronics. Would I get the same quality sound? Wow, not only did it sing, but the sustain and clarity of tone warped right past the Breedlove. This might be because the back and sides are solid rosewood inside of the laminate woods used in the Breedlove. I bought this model online, and generally I don't do that. I like to get down and feel the wood and listen to the instrument's voice. None of the stores in South Cal had any in stock...so I took the plunge. I'm glad I did. Of course I had some security, GC stores will take approved returns. Before I bought this guitar, I tried several other 12 strings (Taylor, Martin, Takamine, etc.)in the store, and none of them spoke to me. I'm glad that I ordered the LL16-12. On a note, the neck on this guitar is much smaller than the other 12's. This works out great for me since I have small hands. It was a win-win situation for me all the way....cheaper price, fantastic sound, great sustain and a smaller neck.
