This guitar is absolutly beautiful. I picked it up in the store, and instantly fell in love with it. The pre-amp is absolutly breathtaking. I've played it through a Vox and Behringer Electric amp, also through a Fender acoustic amp, both coming out with absolutly beautiful tones. Overall, for the prices, you cannot beat this guitar. I hope to have it around for MANY years...

I started with only good things to say about this guitar, but now I'm not so sure. Sure it's a bang for your buck in terms of acoustic sound, but the electric stinks on this thing. I played for a jazz band and all you could hear was the reverb of this guitar. It would pick up every instrument and vibrate. I'll recommend this guitar, but only to those willing to fix it up a little.

Great Guitar!

By churchguitar92

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I received this guitar as a Christmas present 2 years ago and it's definitely still holding strong. Lugging it to and from church two or three times a week, this guitar has definitely taken a beating and it still plays, sounds, and looks (with the exception of a few minor scratches) like it did the day I bought it. GET THIS GUITAR FOR A BEGINNER, it's the best $170 you'll ever spend.

Should at least pick up and try this guitar

By KevinC2021

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I ran across this guitar first on this website. My friends and I were a bit sceptical of its quality and sound, so we made plans the next day with a small list of guitars to try and this one was great for the price. If your looking for an acoustic electric at a decent price I suggest at least picking this up and giving it a try.

Amazing guitar regardless of the price!

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a very, very nice guitar. I use this as my open mic night guitar and everyone wants to play it after hearing it! Solid tone, good bottom end, comfortable neck (although the one and only issue I have is the frets needed to be filed a bit out of the box), and good electronics. Plays like what you would expect a much more expensive guitar would play. Buy this guitar!!

Inexpensive and excellent.

By Chris LaBenne

from Niles, OH

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been in an acoustic duo band for about 2 years now, and I picked this guitar up when we started. Now, I'm a rather clumsy fellow, and I've sent this thing to the floor by accident on several an occasion, whether it be due to a loose strap, or just straight klutziness. Regardless, everything about this guitar has held up quite wonderfully. The tone is excellent, the brass hardware is nice, and the guitar in itself looks nice as well. Great when played through an acoustic amp or (oddly enough) a bass amp (though not recommended).

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. It sounds really good. Since I don't play to entertain I use this guitar for my own enjoyment and to accompany my daughter. It has a great sound. This is a good guitar for the money.

Great for the price

By Adam Schneider

from Hutchinson, KS

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This was my first guitar so I didn't have much to compare it to. Now that I've had a chance to play with more expensive guitars, the FX 335 performs well for the price. The neck is a little difficult to adjust, and the acoustic tone is not quite a rich as more expensive guitars, but when plugged in an amp, the sound is great. Would recommend for any beginner.

Amazing Sound and Feel

By Frank Froese

from S. Abington Township, PA

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I walked into my local Guitar Center today and played around 10 different guitars. This one just felt and sounded so right, I couldn't leave without it. It sounds crisp and clear. It's got a good low end and the action was perfect. I'd highly recommend this guitar to anyone. Sounds and feels better than ones I've played that cost twice as much.

Not bad, not bad at all!

By Tony B.

from Michigan

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a great sounding guitar tone wise, crisp clear notes and the chords ring nice. It has a great feel to it as well, I only have a couple complaints. First, the high E string echoes when you fret an open E or 5th fret A or a 7th fret B. It seems like a minor thing but it is really irritating. Second, after a few months of playing I got some serious fret buzz because the bridge is much too low on this guitar, it plays lower than my Tele, so I had to get the bridge shimmed. So keep in mind if you buy this guitar you get what you pay for, it is an inexpensive guitar and the little flaws show it. But for beginners, you can't beat it, you just might have to get the bridge shimmed :-)

Very happy!

By Phil F

from oob, me

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Picked this guitar up from a local shop about a year and a half back. The reason I got it was that it had low action and a guy that was also kicking around the store (non-employee) was playing it and said it had great sound. So far it's been a nice piece of equipment for me and has made my learning experience very pleasant. There is a small gripe I have is that some fret noise has developed over it's lifetime. I am guessing it has something to do with the low action. Not enough of a bother and I will take the low action to save my fingers any day. Overall, great to practice on. Wonderful price! I felt that it was worth every penny.

Good good

By G

from Bethel, CT

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've just bought this guitar from a local Guitar Center. I had originally planned to buy an Ibanez acoustic-electric but the man that helped me recommended this Yamaha instead. I played for about 20 minutes in the store. I wasn't reluctant to buy this guitar. I knew I had to have it. It has a good tone and I love the way it looks. The finish is beautiful. It's not heavy or light, it's the perfect weight. Even thought I have smaller hands it's not difficult to play chords. As an intermediate player, this is my first real guitar. For the past year I've been playing really cheap guitars and it's such a breath of fresh air to say that I really do play guitar. I plan on having this guitar for a long time. Hopefully it won't let me down. :)

Amazing

By Tyler

from Winchester, Ca

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about a year ago. It has great acoustic sound and electronics. The electronics run on a 9 volt battery which has only gone out once because I played it electrically so much. I have gotten compliments from bandmates and professionals that play Gibsons, Taylors, and Martins about the sound, low action, and solid construction. This guitar is wonderful for any style. It is great for the beginning and intermediate acoustic-electric guitarist. Perfect for the price.

Great guitar electronics cheap

By Andy Diaz

from Garland TX

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought my fx335 in Independence, MO before I moved to Texas. They were on sale at the time but being a guitar player of many years I had to check it out. I brought my son with me who has played for years and knows what he is doing. We plugged it in and the sound was bright clear but could also produce bass in the acoustic style. Nice gold hardware and superb finish. I have to rate it low because of the cheap 2 band EQ which squealed and died within the warranty period thank goodness. I conacted Yamaha and they gave me a service center here in Texas. I thought why put the same cheap electronics in a work of art. Being a tech I ordered a new unit with a 5 band of EQ, volume and shape. What a great guitar. I did have to cut for the new unit but it has made it a killer guitar.

Amazing Tone

By Nicholas Marechal

from New Orleans, Louisiana

Comments about Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar as a gift and was expecting it to be a piece of junk. I hate it when people buy guitars for me without asking for my POV on the guitar. It is one of my absolute favorite guitars. The reverberation on this thing is phenomenal. It produces a loud, heavy sound when unplugged. There's no buzzing or static when it is plugged in either. It's neck is smooth and sturdy, the action is amazing, the only thing i could ask for more would be a cutoff.
