Not a good pedal

By CTRLurself

This is the bass pedal that come with my drumset, and I was plagued with issues. During any hard use, the support that hods the pedal out would un-hook, and I'd have to stop, and put it back in place. The hammer, rebounds so much I HAD to wear shoes (I prefer playing bare-footed) to prevent bruising during play, it came back THAT FAR, it would hit the top of my foot. and lastly, and possibly most annoying, I had to buy a new spring for this pedal, the one provided stretched out permanently in about 2 months, so I bought a new spring, and it still hit me in the foot pretty consitently. Now I am a big Yamaha drummer, but this pedal is a big failure, I now use a Dixon double-pedal, and have yet to have any foot hits from it.

Well... If I have to.

This pedal came with my kit and it really just isn't worth messing around with. seems like it was built as an after thought. the bottom brace comes out all the time which makes you stop and put it back in. as your playing it the whole pedal actually sways back and forth because the brace acts as a pivot point. also you can adjust the movement at all, so the darn beater keeps coming all the way back and rocking the top of your foot. it flipping hurts, and sometimes it the beater would actually gt caught in my shoes laces and then that would trip me up. and there really isn't anything you do about it without totally changing you style or form. all in all this pedal pretty much blows, sorry to Yamaha. it's poorly constructed, they didn't really give the thing much thought. honestly no matter what your experience level, i would suggest replacing this pedal. if you're going to buy an entry level Yamaha kit, figure into the total cost the price of a new pedal, believe me you're going to want it.
