Comments about Yamaha FC7 Volume Pedal:

I purchased a Korg Exp‑2 Expression Pedal to work with my Korg Kronos 2. However, it works terribly with my Nord C2D that just came in the mail (thanks Sweetwater!).

The Nord C2D has a menu setting that allows you to select a popular brand expression/volume pedal calibration (Korg, Yamaha, Roland, etc.). Selecting the Korg pedal calibration did nothing to fix the fact that, given an audio range of 1-100, the "climb" to 100 resets when you get to 30. This results in a horrible-sounding drop in volume back to 0 to as you try to increase it. This does not happen on the way down.

With that said, the Yamaha FC7 is highly praised in many forums across the internet for being perfectly compatible with Nord instruments, and works perfectly with my Nord C2D (Very smooth). It's sturdy, won't move around on you (rubber gripping), and has an adjustable angle option.

FYI: the TRS cable is built into the pedal, and you will need to attach the pedal to its base when you open the box for the first time.

    Save your money

    By The Duke

Comments about Yamaha FC7 Volume Pedal:

I've been using the FC-7's since 1999 when I bought a used PSR-7000. I eventually moved up to a PSR-9000, Tyros 1 & currently a T3. As I write this I have 4 - yes 4 -broken FC-7's sitting on my shelf. They just don't last & I'm not the handyman type. not worth paying a repair shop to fix -em. They just don't last, plain & simple. Very shabbily made. I'm not buying any more, just working without a volume pedal.

    Nice volume pedal

    By BOYD

    from Stafford CT

Comments about Yamaha FC7 Volume Pedal:

I bought a pair of these to replace an old Dearmond. The pedal has a single cord with a stereo 1/4" plug. It fits my Yamaha S80 and my Roland V09. This is a nice volume pedal, rugged, heavy enough to not skate all over the floor, and has a spring-loaded top end, so you can push just a little extra when you need it.

Well Built, Bood feeling pedal for the price. Doesn't work with M-Audio Keystations.

    By Angelo Bellezza

    from Bay Shore, NY

Comments about Yamaha FC7 Volume Pedal:

This pedal is ruggedly built. It has a smooth feel as well as several adjustments that can make it more suited for specific playing situations. First, you can adjust the angle for sitting or standing playing. Second, you can adjust the spring position so the pedal will return to a specific spot after being fully depressed. The one thing I do not like about this pedal is that the cable is permanently attached at the pedal and seems like it would be a pain to replace the cable if it failed. I tried to open the pedal to switch the polarity and it is sort of tamper-proof. Also, with the default polarity, it does not work with M-audio Keystations, but it doesn't claim to. Just a heads up.

    yamaha fc7 expression pedal

    By deanna chapman

    from london, ontario

Comments about Yamaha FC7 Volume Pedal:

absolutely essential pedal in my estimation. i've had one for two years and although i unfortunately find myself having to replace it already-- it must happen. i cannot get by without it--especially in scenarios when i want to add and subtract a voice from different performances. also, completely necessary for live fade out/in.

Comments about Yamaha FC7 Volume Pedal:

This pedal is essential! For those who wish to utilize every nuance of a synthesizer/workstation, this pedal is the one to get. I use this product with my Yamaha MO8 and have found no complaints with it and, it is definately worth every penny!

    NOT FOR USE WITH ROLAND!

    By Keyboardist

    from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX

Comments about Yamaha FC7 Volume Pedal:

This was thrown in as a freeby when our church upgraded to a Roland Juno-G and VK-8 Combo Organ. However, in both cases, this pedal does not allow the full range of expression necessary. On the Juno-G, the volume ranges from 36 to 127 and on the VK-8, from 75 to 127. While this may work great for a Yamaha keyboard, go with the Roland EV-5/7 for your Roland gear!

If you're a serious player, you need this

    By Roy

    from MA

Comments about Yamaha FC7 Volume Pedal:

Who has time to adjust the volume during a performance? I used to wish I had a third hand, but not anymore. Use that extra foot that's not being used! Just like a wah pedal, just control your volume and bring yourself out in your solos. This is a great investment that I think all keyboardists should make. Good luck By the way, you may want to consider gluing some rubber to the bottom as it tends to slide away sometimes.. other than this, it's a faithful pedal. Thanks Yamaha + Guitarcenter
