Overview

The durable, lightweight Yamaha EMX512SC 12-Channel Powered Mixer has dual 500W amps, 16 Yamaha SPX effects, built-in graphic EQs, and loads of input options.

Flexible power
The power mode switch lets you use the dual power channels as a stereo amplifier, or use one channel for the main speakers and one for the monitors, with separate monitor mix setup via the channel MONITOR controls.

SPX digital effects
16 Yamaha SPX effects-including reverb, echo, chorus, flanger, phaser, and even distortion--let you add the finishing touches to your live presentation.

Graphic EQs
Graphic equalizers are provided for both the main and monitor power channels so you can effectively control feedback or tailor the sound to match the room and program material.

Input options
The EMX512SC offers a total of 16 input channels-8 for monaural microphone (with phantom power) or line input, plus 4 pairs that can function either as monaural mic inputs or stereo line inputs--providing a versatile mix of input capabilities for a wide range of applications. If only mic inputs are needed, you can use up to 8 mic channels. If you want to play recorded background music during breaks using a stereo input, and have a keyboard player with stereo outputs, you still have 6 mic/line inputs available. If all 4 stereo pairs are used to handle stereo line sources, you still have 8 channels available for mono mic or line input. It's a versatile system that can adapt to your needs with ease!

Yamaha Speaker Processing
Yamaha Speaker Processing (YSP) provides optimized matching with speakers, for clean, solid reproduction that will deliver your music with maximum impact.

FCL (Feedback Channel Locator) system
The Yamaha FCL (Feedback Channel Locating) system makes locating and eliminating feedback easier than ever. FCL indicators provided on each input channel indicate which channel feedback is occurring in, so you can identify it visually and adjust levels or EQ as required. Another handy features is a Standby switch that mutes channels 1 through 8 so that, for example, after rehearsal or between sets you can mute performer's inputs 1 through 8 without having to change fader settings, while stereo inputs 9 through 12 remain active for background music playback.

Durable, lightweight design
At only 22 pounds and equipped with conveniently located handles, the EMX512S is easy to transport. It's built to withstand the rigors of the road and deliver reliable performance, night after night.

I have ran a karaoke biz for 10 years ( been running/temping for other peoples/bars shows going back 20 years) and I have used a lot of different equipment. I've used the older series Yamaha's and they rocked. they were high quality, plenty of power, great effects, solid and stable. my Peavey xr8600 was getting up there in years, so i went down and bought the new EMX512SC Powered Mixer. pulled it out of the box and it was like holding a kids toy, light as a feather in a big puffy plastic box. even the buttons and knobs were cheap and cheasy.( the only thing of quality in the deal was the electrical cord) i go to set it up and they got these hokey rubber stabilizers you have to put on if you want more stability than a Weeble. and if your setting up and tearing down fast nightly the rubber things are going to get lost or misplaced quickly. i fired it up and the eq led's weren't working and it sounded horrible. i took it back and got a Peavey xr-s and i am very pleased...sorry Yamaha, we here in the working world need utility grade equipment not toy's out of Taiwan.

Comments about Yamaha EMX512SC Powered Mixer:

The clarity and power that the Yamaha EMX512SC can deliver is incredible. The 500 watts is more than enough for a fair crowd and the EQ is a life saver.. just shape the tone you want - doesn't get any better. Your aspiring band NEEDS this. Don't wait until they're out of stock!

Yamaha Mixer

By MusicMan 007

from Shelbyville, IN

Comments about Yamaha EMX512SC Powered Mixer:

This mixer is very universal. It is powerful and clear. I am currently using it with Shure mics and it sounds great. The added EQ provides another great option to enhance clarity if needed. The 16 effects built into the system work great and give this mix even more capabilities.

AMAZING

Comments about Yamaha EMX512SC Powered Mixer:

Yamaha's Mixers are wonderful. Its case protects it very well, as i have had friends sit on it when they're tired, and it still stays perfectly fine without breaking. The sound quality is great, and it is very durable. There are many uses for this mixer, as any mobile DJ, musician, kids who wanna jam in the basement, Surround sound system connections, are all practical applications of this mixers. Its a great mixer, and its a good piece of equipment.

Comments about Yamaha EMX512SC Powered Mixer:

Used as a PA three times with two BR15s and one Peavey PR15 on monitor for the parking lots at a ten acre outdoor arena. Announcers sound loud and clear with great clarity background music from an mp3 with amp at one-half power level. A powerful amp used for a portable system.

This Mixer is what you need!!!

By Jim

from Coventry,Rhode Island

Comments about Yamaha EMX512SC Powered Mixer:

I bought this mixer for a 4 piece classic rock band. This mixer has plenty of power to be heard at the back of any club. We have played outdoo shows of 200-300 people using EV 15's and PV 12's as mains and PV 12s as Monitors. No problems at all. It's light wieght and has plenty of connections for anything you would need for a small club/bar or a backyard show. 500 watts is plenty of power!! Usually you don't need to mic drums in a club so we mic 2 guitars and 4 vocs through this baby and it rocks wherever we play. I would suggest a Hosa 50' stage snake for clubs or bars. It matches the mixer perfectly.Buy this mixer!! It's perfect for the bugeted musician!!

No need to look further

By Jay

Comments about Yamaha EMX512SC Powered Mixer:

If you are looking for a powered mixer in this style you will NOT be disappointed. This amp has such a smooth sound and great EQ. I've used it for about 2 months and wondered why I didn't find this PA sooner. User friendly and works really well with the 12" Behringer speakers. Has more than enough power for any club that I play in.

Comments about Yamaha EMX512SC Powered Mixer:

Being a neophyte to live sound engineering, I needed a simple mixer that basically operates itself. I've owned mixers and power amps that have just been overkill for my purposes at home and small venues. Having a self-contained, powered mixer with clarity and just the right amount of effects, that's easy to operate, is wrapped up quite nicely in Yamaha EMX512SC.

Comments about Yamaha EMX512SC Powered Mixer:

Used on many gigs and practice sessions, and as PA for dances and such. One caveat is the low voltage phantom power. This limits use of some powered devices, such as the headroom on a Radial J48 DI box (which does work but may sound better with 48 volts supplied), or a LR Baggs Para DI (which I had to use the 9 volt battery on because it would not run on the 15v phantom power).

All condenser and dynamic mics I have used sounded fine with it, and the filtering and Main / Monitor controls are simple and of good quality. It is surprisingly light for the amount of volume you can get out of standard passive monitors. The Yamaha mains and monitors and the EMX PA units give you a pretty good combination of live and repro sound. Playing well - recorded vocal and instumental material is pretty close to good mid - fi quality. Really easy on the ears unless you abuse the gain.
