This is a great little guitar. I always wanted to learn to play guitar. I am a retired Music Educator and Professional Drummer. I am a large size man and regular sized acoustic guitars have always seemed bulky and hard for me to handle. I also have large hands and that was a problem for me as well. I had almost gave up on playing the guitar until I found the Yamaha APXT2. This guitar is very easy for me to handle and the neck fits my hand perfectly. I actually enjoy practicing and playing this little guitar. Unplugged this guitar is great for practice. But, this guitar needs to be plugged in for performance. When plugged in this little guitar sounds as great as any full size acoustic guitar. The only drawback is that Yamaha does not make a hardshell case for this guitar. It comes with a padded gig bag. I was very lucky, that after searching high and low, I fould a very affordable hard shell case that actually fit this guitar. The SKB Baby Martin Case (SKB-300) is a perfect fit for my Yamaha APXT2. I am attaching a photo of my Yamaha APXT2 Guitar in my SKB Baby Martin Hard Shell Case. I'm very pleased with both.

Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

Having smaller hands, this 3/4 size guitar is great for me. It has a very nice tone, although being a small guitar it is obviously quieter than a full-size and could get drowned out in a group unless you plug it in to an amp. It does sound wonderful plugged in. The onboard tuner is very convenient, and the finish (I got the sunburst color) is beautiful and gets many compliments.

Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

Very nice guitar, but smaller than expected. Playing through an First Act modeling amp (not easy to find one anymore) it is quite loud and has pretty good sustain. Just make sure to pull the battery pack out of its holder when not in use......cleaning up the corrosion on the connections is a chore.

Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

As a small bodied woman with short stubby fingers, full size guitars are out of the question. Already have a Yammy FG but I wanted an acoustical/electric. The APX is even smaller bodied than my FG and looks like a toy. It was a disappointing experience to take it out of the box and I referred to it as my "Fisher Price" guitar. While it was a good fit for my body and felt good in my hands, I was NOT impressed with the way it sounded, I decided to return it. Before wrapping it back up and returning it to the box, I plugged it into the amp. The box and wrapping went into the garbage and it now has a place of honor among my FG and my husbands guitars. Very happy with my little "fisher price" guitar and glad I bought it.

Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

It is the perfect size for me. I had bought a full size used (pawn shop) a couple of months in the past, but multiple shoulder surgeries and arthritis hampered me from holding the guitar correctly. The APXT2 is just right! I know I will never play professionally, but now at least I can plunk around for my own pleasure without hurting other than my own ears. Yamaha makes this old man happy.
