Comments about Yamaha A-Series Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar with SRT Pickup:

First of all, its much better looking in person than the online pics portray. The mahogany binding is a sweet touch. The best feature playing wise is the smooth edges of the fretboard. It is completely comfortable to your hand. I've owned some guitars, for example a Breedlove , when the edge of the fretboard cut into my palm. This doesn't . The setup out of the box is nice , low action without buzzing. Overall , the sound unplugged has good resonance. The only negative is the buildup they give the SRT preamp. There wasn't much info in the manual about the best ways to use it.

Rattles a bit on higher frets. Doesn't play that cleanly.

ok for some not for others

      By sfbassman

Comments about Yamaha A-Series Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar with SRT Pickup:

Ok here is the 411 on this guitar. I am a veteran player with 10 guitars. I bought this because I like the fast playing necks on Yamahas and this price range doesn't get very far with the big boys like Martin and Taylor.
      1. Neck is fast and low , free from buzzes, no set up required on mine
      2. finish is nice..but I see nice finishes on cheap guitars so big deal
3.The sound is very even....meaning all the strings and frets sound at the same volume. That's acoustic or plugged in.
      4. Now the problem...this guitar has a very deep body but it offers very little bass response. So plugged in you have to turn up the bass. The supplied sound hole cover an act of generosity from Yamaha? I don't think so. The guitar is very prone to feedback. The big body works against you when plugged in. The sound hole cover reduces the bass further. I swear Yamaha tested this guitar and when they found it feedback prone some smart guy says..we will give them a rubber cover. If you play alone or soft not an issue. If you play with a band a definite issue.

Comments about Yamaha A-Series Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar with SRT Pickup:

This is the second Yamaha guitar i have bought and I could not be happier! I have had it for a couple days now and am falling even more in love with it everyday. The tone and looks of this guitar are top quality and could not have picked a better guitar for the price. It came with a hard shell case and a sound hole cover which is very nice. Thank you Musiciansfriend for your matchless products and service!!

        Awesome guitar for the price

Comments about Yamaha A-Series Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar with SRT Pickup:

I've got a home recording studio. I normally write blues and hard rock songs. I play much more electric than acoustic, but I was missing a decent acoustic guitar to round out my arsenal. This guitar is just amazing for the price. The action is great, and it plays almost as easily as an electric. The back of the neck is a little strange as it isn't quite smooth, but it hasn't bothered me from the moment I started playing. If anything it probably makes moving around the neck more precise as you can feel some texture on there. I am extremely impressed with the sound, whether unplugged or using the onboard electronics. It sounds a bit brighter than a guitar with rosewood back and sides (this guitar is mahogany), but I think I kind of prefer it. Basically, if you're on a budget and can't afford to spend 2k on an acoustic, I highly recommend this guitar. It's an amazing value.

        Better than more expensive guitars!

Comments about Yamaha A-Series Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar with SRT Pickup:

I could have gotten a more expensive guitar but why? This one had everything I was looking for! You can play this thing for hours. It has such a full sound for a concert style guitar!Solid spruce top smooth neck with no gloss great electronics built in tuner what else do you need? In a way I hope people buy the more expensive guitars so everyone won't have the same guitar as I have. Because if you try this one you'll be hooked!

Comments about Yamaha A-Series Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar with SRT Pickup:

Just bought the AC1M today and what an amazing guitar especially for the price. Cosmetics are amazing. I have not been able to put it down. It plays like a Taylor and sounds as good to me as more expensive guitars that I tried, but I have not plugged it in today. It comes with a very nice hard shell case. definitely a good purchase.

Yamaha hits it out of the park!!

        By Paul Duray

        from Minnesota

Comments about Yamaha A-Series Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar with SRT Pickup:

We all know that Yamaha is a go-to brand for beginners and students. The quality of their low priced folk guitars has always been reliable and great. I am surprised that this "Artist Series" from Yamaha has not caught on yet. I have played for over 30 years, and I own some top quality instruments. This Yamaha is going to be an important part of my live set-up.
First, this is a "concert" style body, not a dread. I was looking for a good, dependable performing workhorse, and this is it. The neck is similar to a modern "C" shape with rounded edges. It is very comfortable and with a slight tweak of the saddle, the action is very low. The S.R.T. electronics are simple and and the guitar sounds incredible plugged in. Even though this has a laminate mahogany back and sides, they stepped it up with light mahogany binding on the body, which looks very classy. Compared to other brands in this price range that use composite materials, Yamaha offers superior electronics and superior build quality. The hardshell case included is also above par for a "cheap" case.
Fit and finish are super clean. Fret edges are smooth. No buzzing. Tuners are a tad stiff, but seemingly good quality.
I got this on sale. A guitar this good in the price range is quite remarkable.
