Delivers powerful musical performance and incredible value.

The Yamaha YPG-635 is an 88-key portable grand piano keyboard with weighted, graded hammer action and a sturdy, stylish built-in stand. Upgrades from the previous model include 64-note polyphony, an optional 3-pedal unit, along with additional DSP (Digital Signal Processing) effects that enable realistic-sounding Distortion Guitar and Rotary Organ. The Yamaha YPG-635 includes USB MIDI and USB-to-Device for removable storage, along with a high-resolution "Live" grand piano sample, large Wave ROM for higher level samples, a song recorder, and a large backlit LCD (320 x 240 dots) display that shows notation, lyrics, and chords.

The YPG-635 keyboard is an affordable, feature-packed portable piano and features an authentic grand piano-like touch: heavy in the low end, feathery light in the highs, and amazingly responsive throughout.

Clavinova-like features in an inexpensive package.

This keyboard is basically an MM8 with a stand and built in speakers, minus MIDI in/out and dedicated line outs. It contains some of the original digitally-sampled Motif sounds, including the excellent acoustic piano. All of the patches from 140 onwards are PCM however, from the PSR consumer line. The polyphony has been upgraded to 64 on this model, from 32. The keyboard is the same as Yamaha's GH, used in the low-end Clavinovas. The screen and interface is also borrowed from the entry level CVP's. Unlike the Clavinova, it does have a pitch wheel. The speakers are less powerful but are loud and clear. The stand is very stable. USB MIDI song player is a useful function, with sequencing and notation display. Overall, I am amazed by how many high quality features are present in a keyboard in this price range. For gigging or church/live performance, the MM8 would be a better choice due to the poor signal to noise ratio of the headphone out. If you can live without MIDI & line-out, this is an excellent home keyboard for practice and enjoyment.

WOW!

Wow, is all I can say after playing this keyboard for about 3 weeks. I bought this from a local music store, and was blown away when i first played it. One thing that i love about it is that it has over 500 sounds on it!! Theres like, a section a pianos, organs, electic keyboards, synth pads, drum kits, and everything you could thik of. You can also record songs on it, and transfer them to your computer via USB. Overall, this is an amazing keyboard, and you won't be dissapointed.

The best of Yamaha.

My dad bought this as a first piano for me and I played it for about 6 months (well, actually it was the YPG-625, but I played this at the nearest shop and I assumed this and that were the same thing) I can't say anything bad about it! This is probably the best piano anyone can get! Great sound, playability, etc. The only seemingly bad thing about this piano is that when you let go of a key, it makes a little "clicking" sound, but that shouldn't hinder you if you don't pay attention to it. Overall, this is a great piano, I recommend it to anyone from novice to experienced. Great price, too!
