The Yamaha YDP-S31 ARIUS is a digital console piano that delivers authentic sound and natural touch and is advanced, yet affordable. This is a digital piano that is an absolute joy to play, whether in performances or practice.
The ARIUS series draws on Yamaha's over 100 years of experience and craftsmanship in making world-class acoustic pianos. All of these instruments provide exceptionally natural, grand piano-like touch, with realistic weight gradations—heavy in the lower end and light in the upper. The YDP-S31 has the Yamaha Graded Hammer Standard keyboard with realistic matte black finish key tops.
The YDP-S31 also utilizes Yamaha's sophisticated AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) Stereo Sampling for the instrumental voices—faithfully reproducing all of the dynamic details and sonic nuances of the original instruments sampled. Taken at 3 different levels of soft, medium, and loud, each key is comprised of multiple stereo recordings of an actual grand piano. This provides subtle differences in volume and timbre depending on how you play the keys, and gives you full expressive control over the piano's sound.
The Yamaha YDP-S31 console piano also comes with a special music book, "50 Greats for the Piano," an excellent practice companion which includes sheet music for each of the built-in songs of the ARIUS. The 88-key Yamaha YDP-S31 has 64-note polyphony, 6 voices, 4 types of reverb, a metronome, 1-track recording/playback, MIDI I/O, 2 x 1/4" stereo phone jacks, a matching silver pedal (Damper with half pedal effect, sostenuto, and soft). The Yamaha YDP-S31 ARIUS Digital Console Piano has a dark alder finish cabinet with a folding cover to protect the keys.
