An affordable, beautiful alternative to buying a grand piano.
The Yamaha YDP213 Digital Piano is loaded with the actual sounds of a concert grand piano
Just like Yamaha's flagship digital pianos, the YDP213 uses its renowned AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) tone generation technology and true stereo sampling. With every key you play, you hear digital recordings (like an audio CD) of the same notes on a Yamaha acoustic concert grand piano. This exceptionally realistic, acoustic sound experience makes the YDP213 piano a natural choice for pianists of all levels.
GHS keyboard provides touch as real as its tone
Besides outstanding sound, the Yamaha YDP213 offers incredibly natural piano touch. Applying the know-how acquired from over 100 years of crafting fine acoustic pianos, Yamaha has designed a remarkably expressive GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keyboard. Similar to the widely accepted Graded Hammer Effect action, GHS keys are weighted heavier on lower notes and gradually become lighter as you play up the keyboard. A pianist will notice the difference as soon as they start playing.
Beautiful, lightweight, and maintenance-free
The classically beautiful wood grain finish, complete with a sliding protective key cover, tastefully matches virtually any decor. And with no need for the inner hardware of acoustic pianos, this digital equivalent is much easier to move. Best of all, because digital audio doesn't fade or degrade, the YDP213 is maintenance-free — there's no need for expensive, periodic tunings or other technical upkeep.
Three pedals
To let you enjoy more expressive performances, the YDP-213 also features damper, soft, and, sostenuto pedals. Since the acoustic grand piano at your recital had three pedals, shouldn't the one you're practicing on have them as as well?
A variety of voices color your music
For even more performance versatility the YDP213 keyboard offers a choice of 6 voices including electric piano, organ, strings, and harpsichord.
Built-in piano music library
The Yamaha YDP213 comes with a built-in music library of 50 popular piano pieces. These can either be used as practice aids or simply for your listening pleasure.
Capture your own masterpiece The built-in, one-song performance memory allows you to record anything you can play. Listen back to your creations for study, or choose another voice and accompany yourself with a completely different sound! There's also a built-in metronome to help you keep perfect time.
Spacious digital reverb
The digital reverb puts your YDP213 piano center stage in a variety of different listening environments. Choose the best reverb setting for the type of room you're playing in.
Variable touch sensitivity
You can even adjust the responsiveness of the keys to the type of musician sitting at the bench. Heavy-handed players will appreciate the Hard setting that allows them to play naturally and still remain expressive. But when switched to Soft, life can spring from the performances of even the most timid beginner.

a piano worth each and every home...
The YDP-213 is a great digital piano for its price, considering the three pedals, matching bench and headphones output. Not to mention its distinctive style and modern craftmanship. It is made by Yamaha that is why, the sound is almost as identical as a grand piano on a much smaller size. The only feedback is that the speakers do not have much power since it is only 6 watts. To accomodate the lack of power, I plugged it in a 15 watt Crate KBX-15 keyboard amp.. It is just enough to fill up an entire room.. I can see myself trying to be a more productive musician by simply listening to each note when I strike the keys.. I am very much happy with this digital piano..Try one yourself!!

For 900 dollars this is the best keyboard
With its mellow looks and classic sound, this keyboard is well rounded and ready for action. The looks are very goodand the sound comes through crystal clear whenever you lay down a chord or lay down notes. Sounds great but it will leave some to be desired for more experianced muscians

Playing Discreetly
It is great to play in the middle of the night and not worry about waking up people. I also own an upright piano but preferred to use this instead for privacy. The sound quality is also great, I myself do not like the volume high when playing so this is perfect.

Pretty Killer Piece of Work
This digital piano is really something. I've been looking for something semi-portable I can store in my room, my piano, a Yamaha U3 is at my parents' house for now. What shocked me was how similar this digital piano was to my Yamaha. My piano is an upright, one of the best money can buy. The YDP213 not only feels like my piano, it sounds deeper, richer, and nearly as real. Of course, it has to be plugged into an amp for this, but the amp was well worth the results. The only drawback I know of is that the features are somewhat lacking, but if you want features, buy a workstation. If you want a legitimate piano substitute or replacement; COMPLETE with the three pedals, (which I love,) then buy this piano.

Simply amazing...
It's quite possibly my favorite keyboard yet. As a musician who appreciates the hammer action of a real piano, you can't get any closer than this keyboard. I play it everytime I visit, and can't get enough of it. It has everything a seasoned musician needs to create pieces of astounding beauty or hard-hitting tunes to knock an audience off of their feet. Anyone with the extra cash to get one should.
