Yamaha TRB-1005 Bass
I first heard this bass years ago and just about bought one. I bought the L-2500 G&L instead.Don't get me wrong...I really like my bass but when I saw the price on the Yamaha, I had to have it! I've been playing bass for over thirty years and I love this one! Quality,Tone, and a dream to play, I only have good things to say about this one. Try it...You'll love it!

Yamaha TRB 1005 will be my next bass
I've always played Fender basses and currently own a Precision 4 string, Jazz 5, and G&L 5. Having previously played a Yamaha TRB 5, I went to GC curious to see what they had. I played several basses, some costing twice as much, and the TRB 1005 was the best by far. All basses were played through a new Line 6 1x15 combo, a nice amp in it's own right.
The TRB 1005 has volume and pan controls, and treble, mid, and bass boost/cut. With the controls set flat and pan set in the middle it has a nice fat tone, with fat lows and crisp highs. Roll the treble up and the bass up and it gets deep and growls. It seems you could play any style on this bass. The 35" scale gives the low B nice clarity, and the 3 band preamp provides a wide array of tones. Very articulate!
This will be my next bass, as I'm saving my pennies. I may even put it on my GC card. Try it and you'll be impressed, especially when you look at the price tag.

SLAMMIN' BASS!
I tried this bass out at a local Guitar Center. It stood out above the rest of the basses that were there even before I picked it up.Once I picked it up,plugged it in and started playing, it was over! I fell in love with this bass! Awesome sounding, easy, smoooooooth playability and the natural color looked beautiful to my eyes! This will most definetly be my next bass!

Yamaha TRB1005 is a steal
I always thought that I would be a 4 string guy until I found this bass. The low end is clear and amazing. The spacing, neck and playablility is perfect. I had looked at 5 strings before but the only ones that I liked were $2500 plus. When I bought this bass, I compared it to the Warwick and Musicman. Not only did it hold its own sound wise, I thought the neck had a better feel. And, considering that you can buy 3 of these for the price of the Warwick, you can't go wrong with this bass. D. Welch

Outstanding Bass - 5 Stars All the Way!!
I've been playing bass now for more than 20 years, and I have owned this bass since summer 2007. Tried many different basses, Ibanez, BC Rich, and Fender Precision Basses. I have to say this is by far the best bass ever. When I used it live in my old band, I got lots of compliments on the look of it. This is the first 5 string I have owned, and it took a little getting use to, but once I did I was absolutely blown away. The warm sound, the action, and even the look is amazing. Anyone who is looking to upgrade their current bass, go test this one out, you won't be disappointed!!!

Rock it down low with this monster
I picked this bass up yesterday on complete impulse while buying a new AMP. I blown away by the great low tones of this bass and great quality. The pickups with the active electronics have a lot of punch and the boost and cut features really deliever. I was looking for 5-String and did not even think about Yamaha until a saw this beauty - I picked up the Natural colored model and the finish is excellent. Get your hands on this monster tone machine and rock it down low!

I only play 6's
I really fell for this Yamaha TRB1005 bass even though it is not a 6 string, of which I have several. So satisfying I don't need to keep going up the scale. The solid low tones but great scooped low-mid, articulate upper-mid and crystal clear highs make it too hard to resist. You would think the pickups are active for having so much range and clarity, like my Heartfield DRs. Such a rich tone palatte to work with. Great modern tone; cut the treble and it delivers classic bass too. Nice construction coming out of Korea these days--it is built to Yamaha quality standards. I was looking at a Jazz Deluxe Active 5, and maybe I will get one of those next year, but I had to have this one now. I can only suggest that you are not wasting any time looking at this one.

best 5 string for the price
just picked this bass up with natugotral finish.I put it up against a musicman stingray 5.The trb5 blew away the stingray in looks tone and feel. The ray was not the new HH model but still cost almost twice as much.I owned a rbx775a years ago and regreted selling it but never got the slap tone that i desired. The trb does it ALL finger pick or slap.this beast is a steal and could easily go for much more in price.Best 5 string for your buck handsdown.

TRB1005- I give it 4.5 stars!!!!
Simply awesome for the price! This bass is very versitile. The verity of tones are great.Beautiful in natural. The only upgrades I would make (personally)are the pups. I would prefer "Barts" and a 16vt. built-in active preamp.I've owned this bass for over a year...
