The Yamaha SD-2465 Steel Snare has a bright, cutting sound and is one of the best values around!

Steel snares have the brightest tone of all Yamaha metal-shell snare drums. The Yamaha SD-2465 Steel Snare is a versatile drum that you can tune down for a fat sound or crank it up to make your backbeat pop. The 6-1/2" deep shell has more body and warmth than a shallower shell.

One-piece lugs allow high tension and added strength. The "B" type strainer is a classic design that's simple and reliable. Triple-flanged steel hoops give you a wide tuning range and allow the drum to open up even under higher tension. Chromeplated finish is glassy smooth.

Yamaha Steel Snare Features:

  • Brightest tone of all Yamaha snares
  • Chromeplated steel 6-1/2" deep shell for more body and warmth
  • One-piece lugs for added strength
  • Triple-flanged 1.6 steel hoops for a wide tuning range and high tension

Great Sound !!!!!! A Lot of Pop!!!!

When I first started to play with this snare it reminded me about the sound that you get when list to Led Zeppelin's Drummer John Bonham snare. So if you like to have that kind of a sound coming out of your snare with your Yamaha kit, then this is the snare to get.

Sad Sounding Snare let Yamaha's Steel Snare Save U

This is the perfect snare for anyone with a stock snare that is making their drumset sound lame. Unless you get high ends kits the snare drum if often the weakest link in your kit. This snare will add a professional, cracking, deep, punchy, backbeat to your sound. It has enough lugs that it can be tuned high or low and sound perfect. Put a singly ply head if you want it to ring/sing. Put a dry batter if you want it to sound like its more expensive aluminum cousin -- dry, bright and tight. Put a double ply if you want to bring out the depth and dry out the ring. This snare is worth every penny. If you are a whimp the aluminim one is lighter but will not ring as much.
