Just ordered my 2nd SLG100S

I purchased my SLG100S in the Guitar Center in Bakersfield, California about 3 years ago. The guitar is great from playing on stage or in the coach. Its a traveling musicians dream. Built in reverb...a mic input with volumn control...and even an ac adapter so not to run down your battery down while rehearsing. And it comes with Yamaha ear buds that plug into the guitar. I was just in Virginia visiting an old musician friend. He saw it and said "I have to have that guitar"....He gave me more than I paid for it. How often does that happen? I just ordered another SLG100S from the Overland Park, Kansas Guitar Center. Will pick it up in a few weeks. Now using my backup guitar which is a Breedlove. Cliff Rodman www.RVsongs4you.com

I Own

I got this guitar for my birthday. I also possess a 1955 Martin D-18 and A PRS McCarty Edition. Although Yamaha isn't a name brand, it is an excellent guitar. I am extremely impressed, a great buy. Double Thumbs Up

A Hitchhikers Guide to the SLG100S

I bought this guitar to go easy on my wife while I learn to play fingerstyle and slack key guitar. For practicing silently or working out a song the guitar is already worth the price. I added my Bose noise cancelling headphones for the ultimate setup. But, like others have said, you really get your bang for the buck if you like to play acoustic-electric guitars through an acoustic amp. If you've ever done this you know about the delicate feedback dance you have to go through to get a good sound. With this guitar you can play through the amp at high volume and get an acoustic sound with no feedback. As far as the construction, I find it to be top notch. The look is beautiful and the default action was perfect for me. I changed the strings out for DiAdarrio Medium Phosphor-Bronze EXPs and like the sound a lot. My only gripe is that it does not have a built in tuner like all the other Yamaha acoustic-electrics do. It's not a huge problem because if you're playing through headphones you can use the output jack to plug in a tuner, or if you're playing out to an amp it's easier to use a floor tuner...so enough about that. Finally, a word to the wise. Go ahead and invest in a pair of rechargeable 9V batteries. I have a habit of leaving the thing switched on and this has saved me several trips to the store to buy a new battery.

rockin taco guitar

This guitar rocks. I own a taylor 814 and a martin d1 and it's better than both of them. I really bought this for my sons birthday but ended up buying one for myself. It has this great warm sound. Buy it, you will love it. There is nothing bad about it. Rock on rockers
