Amazing

I bought this guitar a couple weeks ago, and it is just awesome. I'd been eying it for about 2 years and this particular Saturday I had to play it. The neck is the perfect shape for me, thin, narrow and super low action. The A.I.R. construction makes it a really light weight instrument that still has the tone and sustain of any solid Mahogany, Basswood, Ash, or Alder guitar I've played to date. The pickups sound awesome, the nice, fat tone from the neck pup and a little twang from the bridge, with domination from the neck when both are activated. I love the rotary switch for the pup selector but it could be easier to turn. As for styling, I think it's one of the best looking Strat-shaped guitars I've ever seen, and the contour of the body combined with the incredibly light weight makes it incredibly comfortable to play. If it ever got stolen or broken I'd definately buy another one.

This is a STEAL of deal at $499!

I'm like the guy below... I went into GC to get something else and ended up walking out with this GEM! It's one of the coolest looking, greatest playing & sounding guitars I've ever come across - and it's under $500! Clean lines and excellent build quality. The led's are cool looking, the finish is awesome - NO fingerprints on the brushed chrome hardware - AND, this puppy is SO light - I've played ukuleles that seemed heavier than this! Yamaha's A.I.R design removes the exta weight. The RGX A2 just floats on you - and it sounds excellent - Clean or Nasty! With a good tube amp or some signal processing, this guitar will get the sounds you're looking for - pickups sound like a Strat/Les Paul mix = mucho coolness.. This axe is Sexy and a real HeadTurner! Get one - You won't be sorry!

Nice Modern Axe

This thing really is a fun guitar to play. Its weight adds to the package because you never want to put it down. It has a really nice neck shape that reminds me of a slimmed down les paul neck. The pickups are nice but only if you have a nice amp to go along they are not screamers but do have a nice creamy tone and clean up really nice. The LED's are kind of gimmicky but you do not have to use them if you don't like 'em anyway. But if you're looking for something a little different and really light check it out. I think Yamaha has a hit here. Maybe in the future some different combinations will be offered. Until then give it a try. On another note I really like mine since I got it at a GC President's day sale for $199!!

Amazing sound and so freakin light

I've gone into guitar center many times, just so I could play this guitar. Its so amazingly light, it has a crunchy sound in overdrive, and it looks so stylish, especially with the lightup volume and tone knobs. It will be mine, oh yes it will.

Kyle

Man, I really wish I had extra money to kick around on one of these suckers. I've played it several times on my guitar center runs and I can't get enough of it. You could play this bad boy for hours on end standing up it's so light. Really great sound, good engineering...and heck, it looks hot!
