The best you can do for the money

I don't play bass much anymore, but this is what I used while I did. It is remarkably versatile, and sounds great in jazz, blues, funk, gospel, rock, metal, and just about anything else you can think of. I was once sitting in for a band's jam session, and their bass player tried out my bass. He has a 500 dollar fender bass of some kind, and was amazed to find that this got considerably better range than it. In short, it's easily THE best bass out there for the price. You won't regret buying it.

PRETTY GOOD BASS....

This is one of the best basses I've played for this price range. I recommend it to any beginner or intermediate bass player. I've played many basses in this price range and the Yamaha RBX374 Electric Bass Guitar fits most of my needs. Its 2 band active EQ is one of the greatest features about this bass. In my opinion, active pickups make your bass sound alot better. Anywhere from tapping and slapping, playing blues to rock, this thing gets the job done. The onboard EQ helps to fit this bass to your every sound need. It has 2 High-output ceramic humbucking pickups that strikingly sound very good. This scnazzy bass arrived to my home very shortly and was in great condition. If yours doesn't come with a case I recommend you buy a case for it because it's a peice of Yamaha history that you want to keep perfect. Yamaha went right with this one.

Yamaha RBX374

It's a pretty cool bass but it could be better. one problem with it is that if you keep it pluged into your amp for an exended period of time the 9-volt battery will burn out. even if the volume is all the way down. that was a problem for me. i thought it was broken. :)

You definitely get what you pay for...

There's really nothing wrong with this bass. The sound is great, it just lacks the punch of a fender when trying to get funky. If you wanna' slap, you better be sure not to go past the tenth fret, your slaps won't pick up as well. I also feel the battery runs out a bit quicker than most active basses. Ass a jazzier musician, i feel i got what i payed for. It's a great bass, just not for me. Its better than my first bass, so i'd say its a cool intermediate bass. "KEEP THUMPIN'"

Enough Bang for Your Buck

The Yamaha RBX374 is not one of the higher-end basses, but for what it's worth, it sounds pretty good. I puchased mine from a friend who is a very active musician, and according to him, this is one of the best sounding basses in its price range.

A Bass Worth Hunting For

I have spent 6 months searching for a quality Bass. After trying out many of the Bass brands out there and educating myself I took a chance on this Bass. I didn't find this Bass in any music stores except on line. I played other Bass instruments to understand the like componets to help make my decision. The Bass met my expectations. It responded with brightness and punch. Fine tuning was rich and the control knobs responded real well adding to quality sounds. While playing the bass I was impressed with the quiet response or lack of squeak as I ran the fretboard. The bass puts out a rich musical sound on each string that is bright, punchy and pleasent to the ear. I couldn't be happier with this Bass. I got my monies worth and then some. The draw back, I wish it came in more colors. Awesome Bass though!

So-So

I am novice to bass playing, therefore rather or not the bass buzzes while playing open string is important to me. And this one does buzzes, especially open string of E. But other than that sound is great, you can really go deep with this bass. You can play with the knob setting to get to the tone u like. It's one of the best bass in this price range.
