  • Good For Beginners

As reviewed by JC on 3/28/2011

I bought a yamaha pacifica 112J in Sunburst and it sounds great and this is my second guitar. I am a beginner and the music i play like metallica, quiet riot, alice in chains, and ac/dc it all sounds like the songs that they have recorded. I would Highly recommend this to a beginner.

  • absolute junk

As reviewed by pucas0010123 on 1/10/2007

i bought this guitar from somebody saying how versatile it was. they were completely wrong. it is a decent guitar for beginners, and is better suited for jazz, rock, and blues. the pick-ups are not that great, and they cover broke off of mine. the humbucker sounds pretty bad too, it gives off a lot of noise the louder the amp gets. i'd rather get a cheap jackson, or ibanez than get this guitar. i even have the 312 version of this. the tuners are junk too, and so is the tremelo. this thing sucks at holding tune, especially when using heavier gauge strings. the fretboard is junk, i hate the frets and how big the neck feels.

  • Great value, good guitar

As reviewed by Brian on 4/30/2007

I have had this guitar for 6 and a half years. It was my first when I started in 8th grade and I have still played it until now and it has served me quite well. It sounds good, looks good, and beats any other guitars in its price range by far. I have started to get more serious in the last year and have played some nicer guitars like Les Pauls and nicer Strats. I do notice after playing those that the pickups on the pacifica tend to pick up a lot of extra crap that the strats and stuff dont. This can be remedied by turning the pickup volume down. While it is not junk by any means, there are just other qualities about it like the bridge and the neck/fretboard that do put it in its price range. Still, a great buy I have been very satisfied. If you are started or dont have much money to drop, this is definately your best bet by far.
