  • Comparable to Taylor 100 series

    If there were only one guitar I could grab if the house was on fire it would be my FGX700SC. It has a very bright sound like the Taylor 100 series but with better sounding electronics.The finish is good but not perfect. A little more clear coat in the cracks than an expensive guitar would have but what do you expect for a cheap one. The tuner is dead on with my Snark and allows fast alternate tuning without a head stock tuner. The set-up was great right out of the box with a brighter sound than a FGX730SC. Excellent playability with very little fret buzz. I am missing fewer notes with less effort. I detuned 4 steps to try it out as a barritone and it has excellent tone and playability. Played acoustically it has great tone but amplified is where the 3 band equalizer really shines. The only down side is the frets are a little high when sliding on the strings but that is going to get corrected real soon with a fresh set-up. This will allow any beginner to play a great sounding instrument. I still love a Fender, Martin, or a Taylor but this is a great buy if you are on a tight budget. This is going to become my travel guitar because of it's size and weight. The body is a little larger than a standard dreadnaught so standard dread cases didn't fit. I had to use a gig bag for the case. This is an excellent value. You could buy one for each tuning at the price.
