  • Outstanding Value

As reviewed by Tony on 10/1/2008

I purchased this guitar to learn on after borrowing my brother's Yamaha FG730S for my first few classes. I had really liked the FG730S action and tone so that was what I was going to look at first. I went to Guitar Center and tried several guitars in the $200 - $300 range including Yamahas and Takamine's and the F345 had as good an action as any of them and was the best sounding. The color and finish are beautiful. The only issue I noticed later was that the strap button was not screwed in straight, not a functional problem but just doesn't look right.

  • Awesome Instrument

As reviewed by Lucky on 12/7/2007

I am a beginning player and I have a Yamaha electric guitar already but I wanted an accoustic guitar. A friend of mine had a Baby Martin, and I went into GC thinking that's what I wanted to (I am a small sized female). The salesman showed me the Yamaha F345 and I didn't like it at first, but he kept bringing me other guitars to compare with it, including the Baby Martin and nothing compared to the Yamaha, as far as my ears were concerned. It just sounded so much crisper and clearer. I bought it at the end of August 2007 and am having no trouble with the action, considering my fingers are really short. I LOVE IT.

  • Yamaha F345 - The secret to good sound

As reviewed by Jimmy Bear Pearson on 9/26/2006

Overall impression: The F345 Is extremely well-build, sounds great, and has unusually good intonation. The action and looks are pretty wonderful, too. Playability: The F345 has a good neck profile to grab chords or to fingerstyle-play your favorite melodies. The design is comfortable, the fret ends are nicely finished, and the overall weight of the guitar is comfortable for people of most any size. Sound: The sound of the Yamaha F345 is where the real beauty steps in! The combination of excellent brace voicing and sycamore top gives this instrument a delightful warm sound that is loud enough for small ensembles, and clear enough for recording. The bass side is warm, and the treble is not as thin as most sub-$500 guitars. The intonation really shines on the F345. This is one of the few affordable acoustics I?ve ever purchased that has intonation that doesn?t drive me crazy when I?m trying to make a recording. Value: This guitar is worth far more than it costs! It?s a well-kept secret.
